Hi all
Been merrily using MOCs for a few months and was challenged today for using MOCs without buying - this was a store that I'd used before no probs. Last time SA wasn't sure and checked with her super who said "if it scans it's OK."
Today, SA wasn't sure and it got raised up the chain to the store manager. Even when I showed him my little MSE copy of TESCO's company policy, neither he nor the 2 OIC had ever heard of it. They called CS who said no purchase, no MOC. So he said no to all my MOCs if item wasn't purchased.
Would like to email Mr T but can't find an email address - only postal and phone. Can anyone PM the email address pls, would like to get the response in writing for next time. TIA.0 -

No need for a pm but good luck with the reply, here's the email addy:

Sometimes they don't reply and sometimes they reply with the wrong info. Don't just ask 'what is the coupon policy?' or you may get a duff reply saying you have to buy the item.
I would make it clear in your question that you want to use a 'mixed lot of non-store specific money-off coupons, each one is different and in date, can they confirm the policy is as you have been told?' No mention of 'MOCs' or any other forum abbreviations of course!
Then spell out what you have been told (not mentioning where of course), i.e. as long as each coupon is for a different product and in date you can use all of them (one of each type) without buying the products stated.
At least then they'll know what you are talking about and - hopefully - may give you a useful reply. I found it definitely does help to carry an email and my local stores are OK-ish with it now (although my email is a bit old now, a recent one is best for you).
Oh, and when I got my email I then sent it with a copy of the policy wording - like your MSE copy - marked 'private & confidential' to the Store Manager I had had problems with. I just put a covering letter saying 'I trust the HO email clarifies the policy your staff were unsure of recently...and that I trust I can now shop instore with my coupons without further problems'.
I didn't ask for a reply and didn't get one (I do know he got my letter though, from another staff member who had seen it). If he had a problem with it he could easily have contacted me by phone or replied in writing, he chose not to so that was my green light to continue.
I left it a few days then went straight back in with my coupons and next time I was challenged I could mention the policy, then show the email, then finally I once used the trump card that 'I have sent this policy information and email to your Store Manager who has not got a problem with it'.:rotfl:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks Coupon-mad
As I was posting the question I was hoping you'd respond as I'd read your posts previously. Bit annoyed coz I had only just got to the point of being confident handing the coupons over too, so felt a bit small this morning.
Anyway, thankyou again for the reply and advice. Fingers crossed...0 -

A thread that is open, all the others seem to be closed.
Quick tip I do, is if the voucher is for a % off, or half price, i use a highlighter pen and mark the amount off, that way the cashier will give you the maximum price off.
Our local Tesco has clamped down on vouchers apparently nationwide the system has been abused and tesco have lost money. (Never mind the profits they make!!)
What our store does now is, no cashier is allowed t put the voucher through, they have to call a team leader, they are scruntising every voucher with a fine tooth comb. xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
