I experience pain after a 90 minute car journey so i may well suffer after a six hour flight. As for the injections the doctor knows i have a fear of needles and wont have them.
If you experience pain after 90 mins then why have you booked a long haul flight? You are contradicting yourself there.
Even if you were to become susceptible to DVT now, you would not be covered on your insurance as your condition is pre existing.
All because you have a fear of needles, that does not mean that the treatment is not available to you. It would be your choice not to have the injections, there is no medical reason why you could not.
Next you'll be saying you deserve a free upgrade! :rolleyes:Gone ... or have I?0 -
Another point to consider if you enter into this 'fraud' is that in the future you will want insurance for other trips - having cancelled a trip due to DVT your premiums are likely to soar - Even if you dont continue with URCA you will have to declare it to any other insurer.
Also i assume your pre existing medical condition has been declared & accepted?0 -
We went to Canada in October and it is fairly cheap once you are over there. Best bet would be to get your Auntie to find some cheap accomodation deal for you and like other posters have said-have a great holiday. Hire a car for your visit (with a sat nav) and enjoy the freedom of driving along great roads with little congestion and marvel at the the cheap price of fuel . Stopping when you feel like it at the cheap roadside diners.0

don't worry about it dude
i'm sure you can sort something out with the place you booked the flights.
Its worth an ask at least, even if it gets you half the cash back.
I still say you should tap your Aunt for something though.... its her flippin' fault after all !!! :rotfl:Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk

Non refundable tickets tend to be, erm ... non refundable?!
sorry, i can't see wher he says its 'non-refundable'
usually something can be worked out, even if he has to wait until after the day of the actual flight, and the the seat has managed to be re-booked.
even if it means just getting 25%-50% back, its still better than nothing! Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk

If you cancel a trip on medical grounds and claim on your insurance, it isn't just as simple as getting your GP to write a letter.
The insurance company will issue a form for your GP to fill in. It will ask when the insurance was issued, when the first symptoms of your complaint were noticed, whether the Dr thinks you are/were fit to travel.
All the questions are tied together in such a way to enable the insurers to judge whether it is a valid claim.0
