pollsdolls, I was thinking about you when I was shopping recently (and the other lady that was having chemotherapy and had to pass the Trafford Centre to get to the hospital - anyone know if she's ok btw?)

Ahhh, bless you for thinking of me! I'm still here and doing fine. Chemo is all done now and hair is growing back nicely but back in hospital for another op next week. Haven't read the posts (or been in Boots!!!) for ages but feeling withdrawal symptoms so better go and investigate this new No7 GWP!

Interesting to read about the Expert Scar serum being virtually identical to the P&P. My reconstruction surgeon told me just to use Vitamin E cream (the missing ingredient in the Expert serum) and 9 months after surgery my scars are fading well but I will ask him about the Expert serum when I next see him.

I haven't tried that, but I have to say I *love* the Boots Gorgeous Feet Intensive Moisturiser and Boots Gorgeous Feet Overnight Rescue Moisturiser (these are available in minis; but the full size of the overnight one comes with fab little socks to wear overnight). These are on sale BOGOH right now (if you buy online you also get 200 points for a 10 quid spend, not sure if that's instore).

I also have the S&G Heel Genius, which is great, but the Boots Gorgeous feet products, feel and smell just a little better, and leave the feet a little softer in the morning, imo. :)

Hiya:) I bought this yesterday reduced to 2.00 I didn't know they were B1G1 1/2 price until I just looked on dot.com:rolleyes: still a bargain though:D

The Offer regarding the TS vouchers (PC & ACM) I used these both together the other day so got both products free! I bought long hair shampoo and conditioner.

Also has anyone done the glitch with the No7 suncare stuff to get the GWP AND used the points voucher in the GWP as it says its only for cosmetics?

I tried to get the long hair shampoo/condtioner the other day, but ACM voucher beeped:confused: I'm obviously going wrong somewhere!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY:beer:

    Happy Birthday Glidergirl! :p

Can anyone give me any advice as to what I can do to encourage my nails to grow? I used to bite them - and then went through a long phase of having false nails but begrudge spending to have the infills done and especially as the last lot cost £25  and had all come off within the week  and got nowhere fast when I complained to the shop

I don't bite them anymore - but there is so little growth in just over a week (I know, I want long nails yesterday :o ) that I'm afraid I'll lose the will power and give it up as not worth the effort - which it is, I know.

I've been using a hand/nail creme frequently, but is there any product that (Boots sell ;) ) works to encourage the nail growth? Any advice/recommendations greatly appreciated :o

Another question, can I use points to buy glasses in Boots Opticians?

Hi miss*whisper Why dont you try painting new growth with a clear nail varnish. It wont draw attention to the small growth, but when you put your nail in your mouth it will 'remind' you that you are trying to grow them.

As a long term on/off nail biter this works for me. Don't put more than one coat on them, otherwise you will be tempted to peel it off with your teeth.;) Try to keep them as neat as you can by filing them too.

They will be weak at first but soon gain in strength. Dont be tempted to put a colour on for a good while, as it will ionly highlight their shortness. :o It is worth it in the long term, so dont give up, and be patient with them.:T :T Try poundland for sally hansens hard as nails. Boots sell the same products but pound shops much cheaper.

Re points in Boots for opticians. They only give 1 pt for each pound spend. But it's better than nothing. It does not encourage you to go there for your glasses though! Good luck.

EDIT sorry just read your question again re points. No you cant use points in the opticians Here

Hi miss*whisper and congratulations on getting past the hardest part which is breaking the habit!
Using a hand and nail cream is good, as is wearing rubber gloves for washing up etc. Have you tried buffing your nails with a buffer and nail buffing cream? This makes them look really shiny and healthy, it's supposed to stimulate the blood flow a bit too and so encourage nails to grow and make them stronger. Just keeping them looking well manicured while they grow is a great incentive too, make the most of what you've got :D You could also use nail varnish if you like but make sure to use a gentle polish remover so as not to dry them out

I think Boots will probably sell nail buffing cream and a buffer, the brand name of the cream I'm thinking of is Carnation (I think)

Good luck with it, the perseverance is really worth it. :D
