    Hi

We love Cornwall and stay at Haven holiday's Riviere Sands Park. It is only 4 miles from St Ives, 8 from Penzance and St Michael's Mount. It also overlooks 3 miles of golden beaches and they are never crowded.

Paradise Park is a great place to visit for young kids

Where would you be travelling from?
We have just got back from Haven Holidays at Primrose valley near Filey and would recommend this it had plenty of shows for the young kids and Filey and Scarborough are both close by.

I would vote for the Lakes or the Isle of Man.... also northumbria can be very cheap and some fantastic beachs and attractions as well as the wonderful countryside.

    Hi all,
I grew up abroad and returned to the UK 5 years ago. It seems a bit silly traveling abroad for holidays as I haven't seen much of our home. Can anyone please suggest the best place to holiday(a weeks worth) in England/UK for a family of 4. (2 young ones 9 months and 5 year old)

    without a doubt - WALES!!!

where else can you get: fantastic beaches, secluded coves, costal walks, national parks, CASTLES and MOUNTAINS all within a short drive of each other! talk about never a dull moment going to the same places!

you have the tourist areas, but there are some hidden traditional villages andl also Cardiff / Swansea for your main city shopping.

also something for EVERY BUDGET and family (inc pets):
camping, caravans, hotels, cottages, lodges etc.....

I second Tenby in Wales, its gorgeous and trips out and ectivities are cheaper than in Cornwall or Devon

The Isle of Wight has good beaches and lots of family-orientated attractions, plus the ferry ride makes the journey there feel a bit special. When my son was 4-5 we stayed a couple of times in caravans at Field Lane with this company.

some ideas for Wales, you can visit one of the islands and even dolphin spotting boat trips.
lots of cycle, walking, activities, watersports and scuba diving!!!

The correct answer is of course pretty much all of the above plus places like Dorset and Northumbria.

A lot depends on what sort of holiday you like. Do you want the seaside? In whioch case places like Pembrokeshire, Cornwall/Devon or the Isle of Wight are great. Or do you want great scenery in whcih case places like North Wales, the Lake District or pretty muh anywhere in Scotland woudl suit.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die
