Not a bad day DFW-wise though had to spend £2.30 on lunch as meeting I was expecting to provide some didn't! Virgin wines tried to persuade me yesterday that their wine club was well worth staying so I politely said no thank you. Today they had the cheek to ask if I wanted to leave the deposited money in the account! Ummmm .... which bit of "I want my money back" don't they understand?!
So I once again politely declined their kind offer and asked for my money back. Hopefully they will now take the hint. They seem to respond quite quickly at least so there is hope of seeing the money this side of Christmas!0 -
Must get to bed - am spending too much time on MSE again - did someone mention displacement activity....

Yoo hoo - weighed myself this morning and found I have lost half a stone! I wasn't even really trying. But we ate quite healthily in Venice (lots of seafood and fish) and walked loads! Since getting back I have been trying to avoid spending so have cut my chocolate intake back a little (not completely!).
Now am motivated to actually make an effort!
Hope everyone is OK - seems quiet in my "subscribed thread land" but I guess everyone is either working hard or enjoying the sunshine! (I should be doing the former and wish I could do the latter - so am doing this instead!! :rotfl: )0 -

Well done on the weight loss mizmir (I am guessing you WANTED to lose weight!), and well done on avoiding work for a bit longer :rotfl:Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Yes - I could do with losing 3-4 stone - so it is a good start!
Now - "lunch break" has gone on long enough - must get back to it!0 -
Problem is work is part of OH's health issue - she is under huge stress due to management bullying (manager refused mediation so it is now with HR and the union
). She sees the doctor tomorrow about the impact on her health. TBH I hope they sign her off for a few weeks....
I meant to ask mizmir - how is OH doing now? did she get signed off and has someone bullied the manager back! (ie the Union and HR)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Doctor very supportive - says he will sign her off if she wants him to - no doubt that she is suffering physiological stress symptoms. She is self certifying for this week while she has the bad chest and then will see. Union have been great and assigned her a case worker. HR also very supportive - and she does have some good support in her department. I think to be honest they are going to have to do something as it is systemic - they have had other staff go off with stress before so I doubt they can ignore it now. Just waiting to see what the next move is....
Thanks for asking....
Now didn't I say something about my lunch being over....?0 -
