Karmacat - the couple of hundred is off the last debt payment - making that one £1K rather than £1400 - but every bit helps and means that if I can find/earn/save an extra £1k over the 16 months it will bring my DFD forward. In fact that is a thought - every time I hit the 10 a day target I bring my DFD a week nearer! Over 16 months that is 16 weeks or 4 months!! So I could if I put my mind to it be DF in a year. :T
Ooh, I like that. I've just got the loan now, and I'm letting that take the back seat at the mo, cos of these home improvements that so desparately need doing. And for the first time, I'm thinking as you describe above - very specifically, every time I make some money (actual money, not Amazon vouchers!) I think, yep, thats paying for that window. Its a real motivator.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Just mowed another lawn with 3ft long grass so am feeling virtuous and am gong to have a glass of wine and a look at the matched betting before getting down to doing some expense forms.
OH has just done some and can put in claims on Monday for £538!! :T Another reason things are so tight I think - we both travel a lot for work but end up not putting the claims in soon enough - and I suspect sometimes not at all.
Really need to get a good system for this - am going to do mine next and see what I can claim back - have had a couple of trips to London at least so should have some.
When the money comes through that is more off the debts - yeah!0 -

Well done mizmir! We are waiting for a scythette to arrive so we can get rid of the meadow that is our back lawn (we have a stonking great big thistle in the middle so we will be glad to be rid of that! never mind the number of dandilions!)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

:mad::mad: Just tried to do a qualifying bet on the French football - got it all set up on both bookie and betfair - placed the bet with the bookie - then tried with betfair - odds had changed - quickly adjusted and tried again only to have the market suspended!! Teach me to try to do things close to the wire. So now I have an unmatched bet on at the bookies. Worst case is that I am down 50 euros (£39). But please keep everything crossed that Valenciennes beat Nice tonight!!0

ooh, fingers crossed.......now, didn't you mention wineSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Need it now! Never been so interested in a game of football!!0

Absolutely everything is crossed - I'm a real chicken when it comes to the amount of time before a bet. I was doing matches on Wednesday for tomorrow. If I do them same day, I want something with loads and loads of liquidity.
The lawn - I have a little patch of grass on the mountain that is my back garden - and yes, its a foot high or so. Its so little, I use shears. Its a green day tomorrow, I've decided. And I *still* haven't had anything to eat, aargh.
Positive vibes - are you a member of another exchange? Is there an inplaything going on anywhere?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Yes I usually do it well in advance but the odds were so good I thought I would try. Would have worked if the odds weren't changing so fast at Betfair - one minute there was £220 available next minute nothing!
Am in Betdaq but the market's closed there too. Will just have to take the hit if they lose. Could be worse - at least it is a simple qualifying stake and not a huge liability at Betfair!
Will go back to betting well ahead - whatever the outcome tonight. (Is still 0-0 but only 25 mins gone!)0 -
Half time and still 0-0
Come on Valenciennes!!!

 2-0 against and only 15 mins to go - guess I should brace myself to take the hit.
Ah well could have been worse.
Now to do my expense claims - nice risk free cash back! :rolleyes:0
