Hate housework too - am very lazy when it comes to that. But needs must - visitors coming later in the week (including in-laws) - so need to impose a semblance of order on things! But my other main motivation is saving time and stress! I spend SOOOO much time looking for things that I need - usually when I am late for work hence the stress factor! If I got things more organised then I might be able to avoid that maybe?

Lists seem to work for me - may seem long but a lot of things are 5 minute jobs that are just there to remind me to do things (and give me the reward of crossing something else off my list! :rotfl:). Seriously though - being able to cross things off is really important as an incentive - sometimes I'll put things down that I have already done just so I get off the blocks with some things to cross off!! ;)

My late sister used to hate cleaning as well - when I was still fit and well I could nip round her house in half a day and have it all done. After the road accident (but when I could walk again!) I used to make a list for the two of us and it would be about 200 items long!, then again the first thing on the list was "make list" and #5, #10 etc. was always "sit and have a tea/coffee/glass of wine!" depending how far down the list we were :rotfl:

Like the idea of being able to cross off the coffee/wine break!

Logs being removed as we speak - though this is the second person and they still don't seem to be making an impact on the pile (we had 12x100ft leylandii cut down so you can imagine how big the pile is!). Can't use them here as they are a fire hazard in an open fire as they get resin in the chimney but OK for wood burning stoves. Still - at least some will have gone - can post again to see if anyone else wants them.

Also out - old vac (turned out to be the husband of a colleague of mine so I threw in an attachment I was planning to sell separately - well saves the hassle! :o) and old door. Yay! Next post - list update!

Well I've fed the birds..... :o

Am contemplating starting on the strimming - grass is very wet but it is a petrol strimmer - will it do any harm?? Just desperately needs doing - one of the guys picking up the logs asked if we'd just moved in as he was commenting on how we have our work cut out on the garden... we've been here 2 years!! :o

yes, it will rip the grass rather than cut it and will look ten times worse. leave it until tomorrow hon and do a homebased chore instead. :)
