Hi - we have a fortnightly veg / fruit box and I have 2 very large grapefruits and no idea what to do with them !!
I am not a fan of grapefruit but there must be something i can make with them ?
Thanks
Also we have a lot of oranges at the moment - any recipes to use them ?

It's not paranoia if they really are after you.

Apparently....... it's very "retro" (I read somewhere) but I love oranges in salads (chopped up with all the white stuff cut off). My favourite is with walnuts and chicory (or any bitter leaves).
Also my favourite way to eat salmon is baked in a foil parcel with just loads of orange slices on top. I don't even put any oil/butter/salt on - the flavours go really well together.
Don't really eat much grapefruit, so can't help you there.... but maybe fruit salad with the oranges, fresh herbs...???0 -

I have about half a dozen large grapefruit and, apart from eating for breakfast or juicing them, does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do with them?
Nice polite ideas only please!0 -
Ooh... Dunno about impolite replies... think that might bring a tear to a girl's eye!
Surely marmelade is the only way to go?Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -

Sprinkle brown sugar or honey on cut halves and grill them - easier to eat if you use a sharp knife to loosen segments from the skin first.Jan 2011 GC £300/£150.79 (2 adults, 2 teens, working dog, includes food/cleaning/toiletries)0

How about some lovely grapefruit wine. Makes a fine dry sort of savignon blanc. If you're interested I'll dig out the recipe.
