I got no warning on either of two suspenions that were no fault of my own, I know their policy does not read that way, but the reality is that they do what they want!0 -

Account 2, couple of years old, gets nuked because of account 1 being nuked. (despite same card and address/phone number it took 6 months though)
Account 3, wifes, only ever used by her, and only ever to buy stuff, despite being 300+ positives and 100% they accuse her of selling on my behalf (remember that the account had never been used for selling) and nuke it at same time as my account 2.
Account 4, sell furniture, collection only, won by someone who didn't collect, get negged, get nuked under 5% rule.
Account 5 still fine.
Account 6 still fine.
Account 7 still fine.
Now I play the system, I do this because ebay ignored all my emails, and accused my wife of all manner of things that she did not do.
Perhaps when you suddenly find yourself suspended through no falut of your own you might realise that ebay simply do not care about their customers, and do not give any warnings.
This is a similar policy they have adopted with me as they have now closed other 2 accounts that I was using less frequentely and for other stuff, but eBay said they were related to the first one so they can do what they want without leaving you any sort of explanation.0 -

Not really or not exactly. In my case I was reported in the past a couple of times by VERO associated for trying to sell promotional CDs. The items were taken off eBay, but I believe that after a few time you have similar problems eBay simply suspend you with not warning like it happened to me 2 days ago.
Promotional CDs are a grey area with eBay and sometimes the record company who apply to the VERO program requests their removal from the site. But there litterally thousands of people selling daily promotional CD or else on the site.
eBay makes clear that they simply have to respect the request of those companies and can't analyze every single case.0 -

As I mentioned in a previous post once you have any warnings they still count as they remain permanently on your account. So you had warnings already which means any future violations will not be warned for.
I have warned in the past that when people list 'joke' auctions for a laugh that even though they fully expect the auction to be pulled it will still remain as a warning on their account and could cause problems in future.
As for promotional CDs this is often discussed on the Amazon seller board as they are specifically banned there and people do suggest listing them on ebay. However it is usually accepted that ebay don't like them either, so it is a risk that sellers need to be preparedto take. It also doesn't matter how many other people sell the same thing, if it is against ebay rules and someone complains your auctions will be pulled and a warning placed on your account.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I feel sorry for people who were encouraged to start an "ebay business" and then having purchased stock, found themselves barred from the site forever, with little in the way of explanation and with no way to appeal."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

This is why it's easier to just keep creating new accounts.
If your account does get fried, there's no way of actually sorting it out with ebay, if you email them you either get ignored or the cut and pasted replies you get have nothing to do with the points you raised.
I can only assume Amazon customer service is much better?"Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Don't forget Dave ebay announced a week or so ago that they are tracking all IP addresses used to access accounts and will be linking them.
So you need to be accessing each ebay account from a different IP address.
And for the rest of us probably best not to let friends like Dave get on your computer for 5 mins to check something on their ebay account when they pop round for a cup of tea.0 -

Dynamic ips will cause ebay a few problems..."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Nope, in fact it is often thought that the Amazon CS is worse as their complaint system is actually dealt with outside of customer services and it is difficult getting any response from them at all. Also as well as feedback and complaints being added to the buyer experience they also add refunds, so if you get too many book slost and have to refund, or if you refund for a book that arrives faulty that counts against you as well. So you either get a neg from a buyer or a mark against you for a refund..so you REALLY can't win.
There have been some really big sellers over there as well that wake up one morning and find that a run of lost books or a few neutral feedbacks have meant they have lost their accounts.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You would think that some other auction site would have come along by now that treats its customers with some respect..."Love you Dave Brooker! x"
