This morning my mum received a Christmas card!!!! So what perilous journey did this card have to make from its sender? All of two or three miles from the village/town next to us! It does make you wonder what other more important stuff gets sucked into RM's wormholes.

I'm amazed someone would send a christmas card vis RM to someone so close!

    Was it addressed correctly etc?

Do you have scout post at christmas there?

Their choice I suppose, sometimes easier if you've got hundreds to post.

Admittedly the postcode was one letter out but that'd still make it only a couple of streets away and the street and town were correct.

No idea, but not sure how that's relevant.

cheaper and more efficient than RM - your mum could have suggested it to the sender for this year's cards ;)

It's organisational hell already trying to get all xmas cards sent out to right people and still people get forgotten etc. Can't imagine my mum'd be organised enough to tell everyone about it beforehand. Of course hindsight is great, but I think most people she knows live too far away anyway. Besides the more worrying thing is that what else goes missing? Can't do much about post that aren't christmas cards.

But will definitely look inot it for ourselves at least (although very local cards we deliver ourselves).

That's my personal philosophy as well at the moment (at least it was last christmas). But I get roped into the "contacts" retrieval and sorting on the parents' pc. So I don't quite escape it. :D

Suppose it depends on area. No idea what they'd be like here, but our local RM sorting office seems to have gained quite a notoriety for bad apples. Like that link I put up a few weeks ago of a postie storing thousands of items in his home. Our local scouts can't be much worse than that.

Just suddenly had a nightmare image of a cost cutting decision by RM management to employ scouts instead.
I bet you wouldn't put it past your bosses either would you?
