Hiya
been very naughty and not posted on here for a wee while - been busy and not much to report.
Had sil staying for a couple of nights and we've had a ball. DH is away in London with work, so SIL came over to keep me company. We had a lovely shopping day yesterday and treated ourselves to lunch in Harvey Nics! Not very MSE - but we did manage to drag it out for about 3 hours, so we got our money's worth. I can highly recommend their fixed summer lunch menu
Off to center parcs for a long weekend with our godson on thursday evening. It's his first birthday so we are going laden with pressies. I got the most gorgeous dungarees and matching t-shirt in John Lewis yesterday in the reduced to clear section - what a bargain! I'm just sorry that there wasn't more in his size. We also got him a pushalong/ride on fisher-price lion. He's prgressing fast and can almost walk, so hopefully this will give him a bit of 'independence' from the coffee table!
My baking and cooking frenzy starts this evening - I'm making Curry Queens curry recipes to take with us for the first nights dinner ans making a whole pile of HM treats for the rest of the weekend. trying to source a chocolate brownie recipe as we speak....... yum yum. Has anyone seen CQ lately??????
lmao at hester's blog.
smokey - your strength amazes me and I agree with what others have said. I really think that your dream was Erics way of reassuring you he will always be with you and the LO's. ((((((((((hug))))))))))))
right, must get on with that recipe search. have a good day xr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -

Morning all
Hope we're all gooooood today
Luurrrvely cauli & broccoli cheese for last nights dinner (both Mrs T and I had secondsscoffed the lot!). Tonight...... can't think what's on the plan, could be fajitahs
AND I unloaded and loaded DW this morninggo me, I say!

I hope everyone is okay and can someone explain to me what I should say to my 4 year old DD was so funny on Hesters blog this morning?!!! She wants to know why I was giggling so much!

Morning everyone,
I`ve still not managed to catch up with everything yet, all the threads that i read seem to move so fast
I collapsed into bed last night around 11pm and didn`t expect to be able to move this morning as i did an awful lot of heavy lifting in the garden yesterday and i could feel the effects before i went to bed.
Monster hound woke me at 430 this morning growling at something, by the time i`d investigated and found nothing amiss i was wide awake so i got up for a cuppa and put some washing in the machine.
I was out with the dogs for quarter past five and we went for a lovely walk around local fields, it was very damp and dewy but lovely and sunny, the houndies loved it.
When i got back i put the washing out and put another load in then washed the kitchen floor and made DH a cuppa and had his breakfast ready for when he came downstairs.
I`ve just made some of MrsM`s tortillas and a couple of huge salads for later and cleaned all the kitchen.
I`m flagging now and need an hours nap, wonder if i`ll get one:D hope so as i`m on the late shift today and will be on auto pilot otherwise.
Hope you all have a lovely day

Morning everyone and evening to those who are also on the other side of the world!
Not achieved much today. Was up and out early this morning to the supermarket and the organic shop (pandering to OH's whims about dairy) then I came home and it all went down hill from there!
Have been to the gym at least, and there's a chicken casserole in the oven at the moment for dinner. It smells fantastic but sadly there's at least an hour of cooking time left before I can eat it. Probably a good thing given that I've just had a total blow out on chocolate.
Aussie thanks for the suggestion about joining a club or something. I have been considering it but have making all sorts of excuses and just generally procrastinating. I don't help myself do I? . I must get my behind in gear and look into some kind of adult education course or something.
Now, while I'm waiting for my casserole, where, pray tell, would I find Hester's blog? I want to find out more0 -
Morning :hello:
((((hugs)))) where needed
I see over on the Flylady thread and on Facebook that cha97michelle has had her baby - congratulations Michelle!
Managed to get up at a reasonable hour despite staying up late on MSE last night... Washing had dried a treat with the dehumidifier in the bathroom, so no trouble finding something to wear for work!
I feel like I've had quite a productive morning already... got another load of washing out of the machine (washed and dried)... went down the postal depot to pick up my mysterious mail item which turned out to be nothing more exciting than a jiffybag containing the Tesco SIM card I ordered on Pigsback for some free points (grrr, sounds like the postman forgot his key to our building that day )... took some shoes to the cobbler to get fixed, and he was telling me how he'd been getting loads of business thanks to recommendations on a local forum - and I told him that some of those recommendations had been mine - and he gave me a hug! :A Not a discount, though...
Popped to the caff for a bacon butty and was in the office by 8:45 - not a bad morning's chores! And of course the joy of it being a Bank Holiday week is that it's already nearly halfway through the working week
Am supposed to have a singing lesson later - need to check with my teacher that it's still a convenient time. I am secretly hoping he will say no, as I could do with an evening at home
Love 'n' hugs

Morning Guys!
Didnt wake up till 8.45am and completely missed seeing DD this morning. I feel bad, but I must have needed it and she did come and give me a kiss before she left:D
Have the nurse coming at 10.30.
Yesterday OH took me for a drive and ended up in Orpington. We went to the 99p store and realised at the checkout that they were all cash only, so OH left me in the wheelchair and went and got some cash out:rolleyes: ....we did get some bargains though! 20 padded envelopes, 24 Twix fingers, 4 cadburys caramel bars, large chicken bisto gravy, 4 x tuna, 2 x Colgate toothbrushes, cold relief stuff, Mr Sheen polish wipes (48 in there), lighters, plasters, Astonish kitchen spray and a few other bits and it came to just under £20. Ive not used the Mr Sheen wipes before, but its just me being lazy really and I can do a quick wipe if someone is coming over etc:o ....I reckon that lot would have cost at least £32+.
The wm is on and dw will need to go on later. OH has put some dough in the BM and not too sure what he's doing with it...maybe rolls
The weather here is glorious again today, so may stick DD's bedspread in the machine and do the nets also.
Is there a full proof way of making my nets super white? I dont have a bath so cant soak them but have a biggish sink. I have some denture tablets...but havent a clue how to use them
Found 3 cornish pasties in the freezer yesterday, so we have them for dinner with roasties or maybe boiled spuds with green beans and carrots.
I hope evyone is well. ((((((((((((((((((((((smoky))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Hugs

Good morning!:hello:
Another gorgeous day, so will get more washing done - I do wonder where it all comes from sometimes:rolleyes: but I'm sure a lot of us do!
Hoping DH will feel better today, as I bought him some Dioralyte yesterday. Had an - er - interesting time in the evening - I mentioned yesterday that we have roadworks outside this week, well at about 8 o'clock our elderly neighbour came to the door to ask if our lights were working. They were, but his weren't and nor were the ones in the house on the other side of him. He went off to ring the power company. Around 10.00 DS got home and remarked that there were two blokes with an EDF van outside, and they were going to have to turn off the power on our side of the street in order to mend a cable the workmen had cut through (because it wasn't where their map said it was - this has happened before too). When the power went off, so did the power on the other side of the street, which wasn't meant to happen according to their maps (again! ) so one of the men was knocking on all the doors apologising for the lack of notice. Thankfully we had a couple of wind-up torches and a battery-powered lantern which we'd bought a couple of years ago when there were rumours of power cuts which never actually happened. So the three of us chatted by lantern-light while DS ate the pizza he'd brought home. No need to worry about our elderly neighbour as he goes to bed around 9.30 anyway:)
"Now wasn't that nice?" I remarked to DS when the lights came back on again, "making our own entertainment like they did in the old days!":D
Actually it was rather nice, as DS tends to be upstairs on facebook or MSN in the evenings (that's if he's in at all) rather than downstairs with us.:p
The loaf I made in the BM yesterday was disappointing - when I got it out, the lower half seemed okay but the upper half had sunk a bit and was soft and soggy:eek:I finished it off in the oven to crisp it up, and that was okay, but the texture was rather rubbery! Must have been due to the weather, I guess. I'll think about investing in a Panny!
Have just put DS's bedding in the WM, it was well overdue for changing  but I'm blowed if I'm going to change it for him at his age!
As DH wasn't well enough to eat yesterday, I rummaged in the freezer and found a M & S ready meal I'd bought as an "emergency meal" for DS a few weeks ago. It was "Tuscan Style Sausage Penne" and I was a bit dubious, but it was really delish! I've hung onto the list of ingredients and may see if i can find a recipe for something similar, or devise one myself. It had 2% Vodka:Dwhich doesn't sound very Tuscan! The last ingredient on the list was "Kibbled Red Chillies"....I knew cereals could be "kibbled", but chillies, that's a new one on me!
I'm off to catch up on the rest of yesterday's thread. Will try to pop back later.
BIG ((((((HUGS))))) to everyone who needs one.
Best wishes

Not sure about the denture tablets Pen-Pin - but years ago the tip for nets I was told/shown was to fold them very neatly, and wash and rinse them folded, they can be quite small, so should fit in your sink. When they come out put them between towels to pat dry and then hang them while damp and they do not crease, or need ironing, it seems we put the creases in by screwing them up while washing them. Worth a try for sure, I have done it succesfully. (In fact will try any lazy methods I can find!)
Hi everyone else. Welcome back home Martyn. (((hugs))) Smokybabe will think of you on the 16th, the first of those horrible first time dates that you have to cope with this year.
Hugs too Jayward, I know one or two with it and it isn't nice.
