What a joke! Why don't they use paper bags like in the USA which get recycled as well or for that matter plastic bags that are compost friendly.

On holiday in America in a supermarket: when I got to the till I was asked 'paper or plastic'?

Thought that the lady meant how was I going to pay, but she was asking which type of bag I wanted my shopping in!

Primark have just started doing paper carriers. The first one I had split when I took the clothes I bought out, but at least it was recyclable:rotfl:

  • Noticed yesterday in Asda they were holding back the normal bags trying to get you to buy their bags for life for 5p each. still gave me a free normal bag but said from next week they won't...

Was not offered one in Wincanton Morrisons onTuesday, had they run out all ready?!

When I did forget my reusablesa few weeks ago, I was told there were no free carrier bags anymore.Fotunately I did not buy much and was in a car.
  • Got one today. I usually go in at the end of the day - ours stick old wine boxes at the tills which I find more use for

many people thought they finished, but you need to ask for them as the chashier are not giving them out.

They are only giving out one bag per sale, as i imagine if they were giving out lots of bags for all of each customers shopping they would have ran out of bags by now, and as many people wouldn't have got one.

But if you ask im sure "some" would give out more.
