May 12th since it went from my Barclay's ISA. Phoned A&L on May 27th and they said they were working on May 9th transactions.
How long can it take to open an envelope and type an amount into a computer:mad:
Will give them to Monday and then phone again.Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?0 -

I agree with that. A while ago someone said they'd been told that they working on transfers from 26th April. I phoned about a week later and they told me they were only at 22nd April. I think they just ask you when your transfer took place then just take off a few days.
My money did eventually appear in my account but it took about a month. It's the last time I have anything to do with A&L.0 -
Update : my IF ISA money has at last appeared at A&L. So it took about 6 weeks in total. Will be moving all my money out of A&L at the earliest opportunity next April!0

This sounds awful. I am transferring one A&L ISA to another one at A&L, so hope they don't mess up.
They were certainly a nightmare to deal with over our address change. We have been with them for 3 years, so shouldn't be an issue. The only thing keeping us there is the high interest rate!An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T

I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -

Are you doing this by post?
If so and you haven't started transferring yet, try going to a branch and get them to do it. (I suggest you ring them first)
My local branch contacted me when A&L launched a new, higher interest ISA and invited me in for a chat with a view to transferring over. - They started with the usual sales patter but they were not pushy.
The bottom line was that the lovely young lady transferred my ISA and it happened immediately. The on line side was sorted at the same time with no need for me to do anything."It's nice to be important but more important to be nice"

My attempted transfer was done through a branch, so don't count on it being any better. And it came back with a local postmark, not from the central office bit, so I suspect it had sat in someone's desk drawer for most of the 6 weeks.
And it gets better - I have decided to move the whole shebang to Icesave as I am hacked off with A&L, but don't know what sort code to put on the Icesave transfer form. DH went into the local branch this morning to ask what sort code I needed and they very helpfully provided him with all the information he needed to transfer money IN!!! I blumming give up - they have no clue at all.0 -
What would you all say to someone who's just opened an A&L ISA and is debating whether to send off the transfer form, or whether to give up on A&L, cancel that account, and make an easier internal switch to an interest rate of only 5.7% with their existing ISA provider instead?0

Both my husband and myself applied for the A&L ISA at the beginning of May. We sent off the transfer forms and today (7 June) as we'd still not had our money transferred, my husband decided to find out what was going on. A&L told him that the tranfer was being held up by the other bank (ING Direct). He called ING to find that they had not yet received any instruction from A&L to transfer the money. He tried calling A&L back but after being transferred to the correct dept, he couldn't hear the person on the other end of the phone very well and eventually the line went dead, so he tried again. This time he left our number and just before 6pm, the phone rang ONCE and then stopped. This is obviously their way of saying they did call back, but we didn't get a chance to answer! When he called straight back, the office had shut!
What are they up to? We've lost a substantial amount of extra interest in the first month alone.
To make matters even worse, ING said they take 30 days to do their bit as well as A&L taking 30 days to do theirs! I suppose the only good thing is that the money is still getting interest while it's in the original account, although not as much.0
