I like the idea of doing one room a day but I work long hours 4 days a week and have Wednesdays off. I do the housework then and keep weekends for other things- shopping, gardening, doing nothing .
Sometimes the worst thing about housework is how large a task it seems to be. It looms in your mind and you keep putting it off. You can break tasks down into smaller ones - sort one cupboard, one drawer. I find a good trick is to do something in your waiting time. For example my kettle takes about 3 mins to boil - I tidied out one larder shelf and threw out a multitude of out of date tins while waiting for it. At the end of the day I had done all four shelves and had 4 cups of tea. I know I should probably get a faster kettle but ...
I had a professional cleaner a while back, when I was recovering from surgery. She removed all the clutter from my windowsills and put it on a tray. It was a real eye opener to see the assortment of stuff I had turned a blind eye to - receipts, thimble, pens, batteries, gifts from magazine covers. I now try to keep it clear..if i had known then what i know now0 -
Michelle, congratulations
I've just been awwwwing over the photos. Nearly a Monday, well I was close. He shares the same birthday as my neice
boddy, post on the utilities board on here, someone may be able to advise. One thing I would try is meter watching, switching everything off in the house the see if it's still going round (if so that's a fault already) then watching as she puts things back on (a friend of mine found out her freezer was a problem) Get her to contact http://www.energywatch.org.uk/ aswell.
Argh, puddle of water in kitchen must go investigate back in a bit when I can catch up further!!!
pigpen, they can usually find your details with SLC from your name and address. With your DD, is she being a monkey at school because of the hearing difficulties? always a possibility and another reason for them to listen to you more when you ask at the audiology dept
g&b, bunnies make great house pets, my friend has one which has free roam, it's like a dog, greets you at the door etc, great little character.
Well done to your DS dusty! Braver than me, I can swim but refuse to go deeper than I am!
Mudbath, amazing what savings we make because of advice, sprouting brocolli of all things eh! The self confidence issue isn't your fault, I remember a piano teacher I knew used to get some children to sing into an old hifi via a microphone and record it.
serena happy birthday to your Dad and your DD.
tracy, fingers crossed your DS is better soon xOne day I might be more organised...........

thanks everyone for all the hugs etc, I am overwhelmed yet again by everyone's kindness on here. Struggling to keep up with the thread at the moment so I wish everyone hugs whether you need them or not.
tia - yes am doing part time, god how anyone manages a full time job with littlies I dont know, I am in awe of them. I am doing 3 "school" days so 930-3 3days a week Tues, Weds, Thurs.
luby - happy birthday - hope yours is better than my DH's (see below ....:( ) and yes I cleared out OM box a bit
Leaving the girls this morning was hard, especially the baby, it was actually really really hard giving my buggy to CM and walking away (tears starting again now) but I was fine and was fine all day, missed her and DD a lot but didn't realise how much until I saw them with CM at school , I practically bowled other people over in my mad rush to see them.
I was feeling a tad down about it but as its DH birthday I didnt have time to dwell on it as I came home and we (me, DS, DD) baked him a cake and iced it and made pizzas for tea.
Everything was hunky dory until I said something to upset him, he stewed on t til kids went to bed, then we had a massive argument and now the tears have started I am finding it hard to stop. He went to bed in the huff about 9.30. I still had bags to get ready, washing to put away, washing to put on, DW to empty, present for a birthday party tomorrow to wrap. I am totally shattered. I walked to school this morning and back, as usual, then cycled to work, worked, cycled home, walked to school, walked home from school with baby in baby carrier on me whilst carrying baby's bag of stuff, DD's preschool bag, DS's school bag, DD's lunchbox bag thing, DS's lunch box bag thing, and DS's jumper. Felt like I was pregnant all over again LOL My legs are sooooooooooooooo tired. We got home, LO fell asleep for 2 hours, MIL came round, she fed LO dinner, DH put LO to bed so I saw her for all of 10 minutes properly all day. Feeling completely sorry for myself, am due on tomorrow so I know that's why, but I honestly feel as if someone has ripped part of me off. Its hideous. Probably totally melodramatic and overreacting, but thats how I feel. And I have to go and hand her over again all tomorrow.
kaz- I did read your message, and I know you're right and I reckon if I wasnt due on I'd be a lot less emotional about it all
Will read for another few mins - dying to see if Michelle's baby has arrived yet - but hope everyone's has nice sunny Wednesdays

Jill big hugs from me too, hoping tomorrow is easier. I remember it being hell for at least a week leaving mine, but it did get easier. One thing I didn't have was the Mammy's here welcome because I worked evenings which I would have enjoyed.
Caught up now, time for bed I think. I have to write DS2 a note tomorrow to say he can wear just his tshirt at school, after coating him in suncream and sending him with some, seems a bit daft but I can understand why. I will have to make pack ups in morning because I can't be fluffed now, lifting tables and chairs about this evening I'm aching even more (exams on in the hall we use for DPs club) Just hoping I can sleep tonight, took until 3am to get to sleep last night, too hot and couldn't get comfy!
Going to have a read of a few other threads, transfer more cash into my new account (double checked today it's gone through ok) and get myself to bed, night night all xx (inc baby Sambehave yourself for your Mammy xxx)
One day I might be more organised...........

Morning all,
Been awake since about 5am again. Don't know if it's because it's getting light about that time or something else is waking me up.
Just waiting for the weather forecast on the local radio to see what to wear today
Have a good one ladiesI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Morning All
Well I've already got washing on the line and another load in the WM. I came home yesterday lunchtime and brought in my towels off the line and put another load of washing out so I'm hoping I'll be able to do the same today. Depends what's happening at school though.
Just going to sort out lunches and wash some dishes and then I suppose I'd better get dressed and get off to work.
Hope everyone has a good day
