  • Iam a big fan of aldi yet the staff let me and the business down with their overwhelming desire to make profit for the company,,please please please stop putting open/damaged goods/food back on the shelves and in the freezers it does your image no good at all .I have been a loyal customer for over twelve years but now I am thinking of ending our relationship as your staffs perception of providing good food products differs tremendously from mine.
the store in question is in chaddesden Derby ,go have a look at the open damaged packaging that is stuffed back on the shelves or the out of date products mixed in with the in date stock
if you advocate this practice Aldi management you need a good spanking,

Have you actually witnessed the staff putting opened boxes on the shelves ?

You realise that it well be customers who are putting open boxes on the shelves, yes out of date items do slip through the net so if you see any give to a member of staff ( means 1 less on the shelf ).

Customer open boxes not staff, the amount of times I've seen customers rip open frozen/chilled items and dump them back before getting an unopened pack for themselves is unreal. It's not really like the frozen item is going to look any good anyway.

The other problems this leads to is what to do with the damaged packets? You can either throw them away, reduce them or tidy them up a little and leave them to sell. (It's impossible to reseal them anything adhesive doesn't work to well with previously frozen/chilled products) Reducing them leads to more problems as you then start getting the clowns opening more packaging and wasting staff members time reducing more perfectly good items. Throwing them away is a complete waste. 9 times out of 10 just tidings, leaving them and not ordering them again until the damaged packages have been sold works fine although it's not the prettiest sight in chillers/freezers..

The OOC items though shouldn't be happening, datechecking isn't that hard sometimes things do get missed though it's very easy to do with the slightest distraction.
  • You must be unlucky in your branch - I have no more problem in the 2 that I visit than I do in any other supermarket. Rather than the staff, it could be that you have one bad customer that repeatedly opens stuff and hides it back in with the unopened stuff. If it IS anything to do with the staff then you are unlucky to have one bad manager - it happens.

And that is a problem for what reason?
