Aldi store complaint help

Hi hoping this is the right board if not please move.
Ihave only just started to shop in Aldi and do not know how there complaints procedure works, is it just like tescos or sainburys?
I bought my fruit and veg there last week and when i went to use the broccoli today it was infested with about 3-4 different types of bugs. Now i am used to getting the odd bug and they normally come away when you rinse but even with extensively washing the broccoli was really infested still and i am talking about 50 bugs + and all over the stalk and deep inside the head so there was no way these bugs were washing out.
well it has made my skin crawl and feel very sick that my children nearly ate this.
what is the best way to deal with Aldi? i have kept the broccoli its in a bag. i assume they will be open tomorrow still?
Any opinions will be gratefully received.

ah it's an extra bit of protein and just shows their produce isn't coated in all sorts of chemicals.0

Go back into the store and explain to the manager, you will get a full refund and an apology. i have never come across bugs in the produce before and i work for them, hopefully it is a one off.0

Good advice from chris, I've been using them for a while and never had any issues, suppose at least we know there is less pesticides when there are bugs on, to me slugs on lettuce = fresh but that does sound a lot.One day I might be more organised...........

As much as I sympathise with the bugs (not nice), PLEASE don't try and use the "my kids nearly ate it" line with the store, it's only likely to irritate them. Just think - how negligent would you had to have been to let your kids eat that? You said you were washing and scrubbing it, and your kids still nearly ate it?
All you need to say is "the brocolli had bugs in it" - that's all that's needed to demonstrate how rank and unfit for sale it is!0 -
I do think the veg and fruit from aldi and lidl can be poor-I am not sure it's ever very fresh is it?
I assume that's why it's so cheap,(a bit like buying stuf off a market at the end of the week),but perhaps that's just the Lidl I visit.
I bought their kiwi fruit sometimes because it was 9p there when it was at least 20p everywhere else, which is a bit too good to be true, but it doesn't keep very long, and then you have to think of the decreased vitamin content for produce thats older.,and I wonder if it's a false economy.0 -

Oh dont worry i would not of said that to them, i was telling the people here as it made me quite ill if there had not been so many i would not of looked deep into the heads of it which meant i would not of seen 1/2 of the bugs.
anyway off to aldi in a mo thanks for everyones advice.Still TryingGrocery challenge July 2016

My boys spent many a summer day in the garden sampling the bugs, worms, etc.
Aldi are providing a service to the lazier kids of today.Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before0 -
Well Aldi/Lidl will not have a complaints thingy like Tesco etc because its another overhead onto each store and hence something else that would push prices up/pull profit down.
Your best jusy going in and speaking to the manager like Chrisxr2 says and chances are you will get a refund and and apology.
If it were Tescos etc you would go to the customer services desk to complain and they would give you a refund and something like a £5 voucher to shut you up. I would not expect this sort of responce from Aldi if I were you, for the reasons outlined above.Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. It was so good we removed it because we cannot think of one so good as you had and need to protect others from seeing such a great signature.0 -
I've recently switched to Aldi - mainly for the super 6. I've just found a worm/caterpillar inside one of the plums I bought today. I'm a little grossed out but will visit the store to ask for a refund. At least I didn't find half a worm!
I found a live worm inside a radish I bought from Sainsbury's and was refunded the amount and an extra £15 on my Nectar card.
Curious to see what Aldi will offer - should I take the worm with me?..0
