Another idea for thighs and/or drumsticks is honey and mustard. Use equal quantities of honey and grainy mustard mixed well in a roasting dish. I'd use 2-3 tbsp of each for 6 thighs. Coat the chicken well and cook in a medium oven (gas 5) until done, turning a few times so both sides get a nice dark brown, crispy layer. Serve with chips and veg. I love the extra sauce poured over the chips...Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

Or with rice:
Brown chicken with a bit of oil on a medium heat for 5-10 mins (just to get a bit of colour on the skin).
Turn down and cook on low for another 10 mins.
Remove chicken, drop in onion and rice (short-grain best) and garlic (if you're me...), mushrooms if you have them. Cook low/medium for a couple of mins.
Add twice the rice quantity of water and a chicken or vegetable stock cube, (optional) peas or sweetcorn (canned or frozen) and the chicken.
Simmer for up to 20 mins - switch off and leave for 5 mins when hardly any water left.
Twizzle and serve...0 -
Thighs make lovely curry - you can take them off the bone before serving if you like but I never bother. I see from Rick Stein's India that Indians cook all their curries with meat on the bone! To be honest, I always find dark meat tastier and juicier than chicken breasts. Also, you can always roast thighs and have them cold the next day with salad.0

I am trying to use up the freezer before xmas. I have come across some chinese coated chicken thighs (barbeque food) that we can't think what to do with. .. the problem is I dont actually like the chinese flavouring so can't just roast or grill them. I am loathe to throw them... can anyone inspire me with odeas that would also hide the chinese flavour. Thanks0

Can you wash the coating/flavouring off?If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

I had some bbq chicken thighs which I didn't like so washed and skinned them and used in a pie with gravy.Slimming World at target0

yes - wash it off! but I wouldn't serve it plain or with a delicate sauce! curry would probably mask any residual flavour!0

Hi all
I have finally persuaded the family to try chicken thighs instead of our usual breasts. Now I don't know what to cook!
We like spicy, Indian and Thai particularly and I have most store cupboard items plus spices and herbs. I have a slow cooker or can use regular oven.
Preferably something that is cooked then maybe the meat is taken off the bone as I think this will suit everyone best.
So, ideas please?Much appreciated.
