Pixmania - terrible service

They have responded to my e-mail (in which I requested cancellation of order).
They say that they need more information to process my order, such as a copy of my passport! They have simply ignored my cancellation request!
And did you know that s.75 of Consumer Credit Act is probably useless for this transaction and also the Distance Selling Regulations? In fact, the whole of UK Consumer Law will not help anyone buying from Pixmania!!
Why? Because, any contract with them is based on French law, only enforceable in the Paris Commercial Court!
I would strongly advise anyone to give this company a miss!
Perhaps Martin should start a campaign against companies supplying goods in the UK (especially with .co.uk Internet address) but governed by French law!0 -

I would vote for that. Surely they must be doing something wrong
They have a .co.uk address which looks like a uk company.
Their products are all advertised in Sterling.
They have an address in London for collection.
They have a UK phone number.
So to anyone who is non-savvy it looks like a uk company, the fact that uk law, uk consumer protection, uk data protection and uk warranty don't apply surely is fraudulent trading?
Anyone know if trading standards have ever looked into a situation like this?

No way! lol, passport?
Well I just requested that they cancel my order - had to do that 2 times, then I had to bug for a refund coz I didn't get any confirmation, and that was it, lol, about after a week of waiting I got a confirmation saying that I had been refunded.0
