Charged for something I didn't buy in Tesco

Hi all,
Don't know if this is the correct place for this but I'm hoping someone might know the answer.
Yesterday afternoon, OH and I went shopping in Tesco. Spent a fortune and only now have I sat down and looked through the receipt.
We picked up three ciabatta rolls from the fresh baked section - the ones where the cashier needs to use a sheet of barcodes to scan them. On closer inspection of the receipt, it also appears she's scanned the barcodes for Smarties cookies, chocolate brownies and a chocolate doughnut in the process - none of which were with my shopping and it's cost me an extra £2.37!!
Is there anything I can do to get the money back, or will Tesco not believe me that these things weren't in my trolley and I didn't bring them home?!
Pedantic, maybe, but I don't see why I should pay for something I haven't got! (but do agree I should have checked my receipt before I walked away).

I think you'll get your money back if you go in an explain what happened.0

Go back and complain - I think they'd have to think that you were pretty desperate to make something like that up.
In the very least the cashier needs to be retrained onhow to use her scanner in case she's doing itto other customers and they are not realising."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
mrcow - We did spend £158! You're very right about the training. Will go in tomorrow if I get chance.
saintscouple - Thank you! I've never looked at the Vents board so I didn't consider it (obvious when I think about it).0 -

You will get a refund no problem! Just go and politely explain the problem and they will give you the money back.
They are supposed to take your clubcard points off for refunds, but normally they don't so you will win there! 2 points!
I am always going back to Tesco for refunds for over charged / incorrect / faulty / etc etc and its never a problem.0 -
I had a customer once when I worked for in a stationers. She bought a bundle of items and amongst this she bought 2 diaries.
About a hour later she came back into the store and said I charged her for 2 diaries - Well DUH - she had bought 2!!!!!. She said she only bought 1.
Now I remember serving her - I remember her buying 2 diaries - I remember charging her for 2 diaries....
I DEMAND TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER was her reply.....
Guess who the manager believed?
Certainly not a staff member.0 -

Well that's really terrible that someone could be so dishonest and then take it to your manager to try and make out that you were in the wrong when you knew you were telling the truth.
Not trying to offend on the back of your post......but it at least offers hope to the OP that they will get their money back?
