Going back to the OP's post, it's time that Blue Badge parking was supervised by the supermarkets. That would include checking that the the badgeholder was the person jumping out the car, not their spouse, neighbour, friend etc." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

While they're at it, I wish the supermarkets would supervise cars that, for the life of them, can't seem to park in one space. You know the ones. No care for anyone else, parking across two or more spaces. So skewif they make Graham Norton look straight.
In fact, when I went to Tesco the other day, one car was parked across no less than four spaces. Total disregard for others, and no excuse. Eejit.0 -
Yeah sorry, I have been foiled.
I am obviously the worst of all criminals and complete scum sorry. I beg for all of your forgiveness.
I just cover it all up extremely well, but ssshhhh, don't tell anyone.
But in all seriousness, I cannot be bothered to argue with you lot for a number of reasons but mainly because even when you have won an arguement on the internet, you still look like a retard."I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -

Sorry, but I have to disagree with that. It would add more to the running costs of stores, so we'd all end up paying.
Better to leave it to people like us to give the parkers a hard time for free.:D
Round our local shopping complex there are disabled spaces and parent and child spaces which all tend to be used by the elderly with no blue badges or kids, just a severe case of too old to care and can't be arsed walking!Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

I think there should be some leeway however, as I had plaster cast on up to my hip and therefore had to be in a wheelchair (could only get around the house on crutches, and even then with difficulty and I am a fit 23 year old!) and my OH when taking me places could not park in the disabled bays, even when going to the GP for extra pain killers! I think there should be some sort of temporary badge for such times.
In tesco they don't even do the trolleys that attach to wheelchairs any more, you have to balance a basket on your lap:eek: Very embarrasing when it goes flying!
However a friend of mine has MS and therefore has a badge. Some days she can walk a fair way without a stick. She regularly gets abuse from people in the supermarket who shout "you shouldn't be parking there you aren't disabled". Which is very offensive and upsetting as she is in a wheelchair for part of the time. It is because she is only 26 and people think she is fit and healthy. Appearances can be deceiving. The thing is even on days when she is able to walk unaided she has to park in the disabled bays as she tires very easily. People can be too quick to judge based on appearances, so check before you start abusing people!0 -
On the subject of supermarket policing of blue bays......No supermarket employee has the right to ask to see the reverse of my Blue Badge. That is reserved for police officers and parking attendants
Secondly.....I drive a Saab 95. It does not fit in 1 supermarket parking bay. If they didn't make them all sized for fiestas/corsas, then it might fitAutism Mum Survival Kit: Duct tape, Polyfilla, WD40, Batteries (lots of),various chargers, vats of coffee, bacon & wine.0 -

I drive my Dad's ford galaxy sometimes and the people who I babsit for have a Range Rover sport which I also drive. I have NEVER had an issue parking either of these cars! Maybe you should invest in some parking lessons?!0 -
Patty,
methinks that someone(you) really needs to calm down.
My wife has a blue-badge, on the days that she does not feel too bad she won't use a disabled bay. Other days she has to. But I don't think that even when she feels realy bad that she would get on her high horse and state no-one is checking HER badge!!
Also, we had a Saab 95 until recently. I think that if you have difficulty parking within the restraints of a supermarket parking bay, either you need some lessons in parking or you need to get a bus pass. Or are you just the sort of selfish driver this forum has beem talking about?
What do you think you are proving? Absolutely nothing
Just stroppy eh?0
