Just arranged to send my ancient nokia to mazuma for £4, then realised I could have got cashback if I went through envirophone on quidco...doh!! Never mind that will teach me. Also 50p survey from homeofresearch. Better than a kick up the wotsit I suppose!

:T Right thats it, my gloves are off now!!!! MUST CLEAR DEBT!!!! :rotfl:

Fighting talk I like it!!!! We will clear our debts woo-hoo!!

Ok to give everyone something to think about , what is the first thing you are going to save up for when u r debt free next year . Mine is a bit adventurous , I want a bmw MINI, not fussed if its second hand and prob basic model as cheaper tax than a cooper. I think I will be looking at about £8/9 grand, hopefully a grand from selling my existing car. I had a classic mini last few years but had to sell, too expensive to keep fixing and not reliable enough to have as only car so had 2 cars- not very dfw! If I have a new mini I can still be a member of our mini club but won't need another car as well.

*waves* how are we all tonight?! I've been out all afternoon at the pub and only spent £6, my OH (bless him!) kept buying my drinks ... I feel really miserly lol ... he was the one who insisted I stay out though so he can't blame me too much, and I did drink lemonade instead of alcohol, so I hopefully haven't bankrupted him too much! :)

He's now gone back out to town with some friends, I deffo can't afford that thou so I said I wanted to stay in & chill out ... bah. This debt clearing lark is rubbish sometimes!! Although I'm cheering myself up by thinking that maybe town is just full of loud and annoying people so I am better off here!

He worries me sometimes as he just spends money ... I am sure some of tonight is going on the CC. He's loads better with money now than when I met him - but deffo not had his LBM yet! I want to explain it to him but I know I can't, just have to let him be until if/when he realises it himself. Frustrating thou! Anyone else have an OH like this? (he is a lovely guy btw, I love him loads, so don't get the wrong idea! It's only money stuff he can be a bit frustrating on occasion!)

Mabel, thx for the tip re the Up Your Income board, I'll have a look at that! :)

Hope everyone is okay oh and I can see from the determination going on here I'm going to have to up my game to keep on the debt busting track xx

Oh and things to save for ... the biggie is saving up a "buffer zone" so I can start running my own business. But also saving for a house deposit, a car (oddly enough I also really want a Mini!), some decent work clothes (I can't justify any at the min) and quite possibly a holiday where I don't need to worry but also don't come back with debt. And would love to go travelling for a year or so. That should do for starters! :D

Hi everybody, how odd, I really really really want a mini as well! Moneymabel, perhaps when we have all paid everything off you can start a new challenge, "Moneymabels Mini By 2010 Challenge!" Unfortunately need my own house first, but we can always dream! Had to spend money today, food shopping £25, but should last all week if not longer, so not too bad. It's nice that we can all support each other, I know we don't have loads of debt compared to other people on here, but I want mine gone as soon as possible, I need my own home by 40! Also, Jenna, thanks again for the lovely post you put on my thread, have just reread it, has cheered me up again.

    hi jenna,
I bet town is full of hot sweaty men all trying to pull- you are much better off at home! Is the credit card your oh is using in both your names? Or is it his own debt he's increasing ? Do you live together and does he take care of his bills? ( twenty questions!!!) as long as he can pay his own way and isn't increasing ur debt then concentrate on your own big challenge and let him wake up and have his lbm when u r driving around in your new mini all bought and paid for ( and dont give him a lift LOL )
What business do u wanna start? It was something to do with events wasn't it?
Just seen my challenge in your sig- it all looks very official now, better pull my finger out and get paying off that debt!!

LOL- I'm liking that new challenge idea!! hey thats good for food shopping , I spent £15 quid at lidls earlier but dont think it will last me long, might go again tomorrow and concentrate more! Thinking of going to carboot and seeing if anyone selling cheap mobiles that I could re ycle through envirofone to get quidco cashback . They only need to have a battery not charger so might get a bargain. At last the iPhone can earn me some money instead of wasting it as I can check the prices phones are getting on the spot.
you're right its so nice knowing that there are some of us in the same situ, felt a bit guilty posting about my debt on some threads coz thought people would think- whats she talking about I owe thousands more, not that anyone ever did. But you lot are all in the same boat as me which is great , all your support will help us all be debt free v v soon

how funny that we all want MINI's!! :)

Not made it as far as the Up Your Income board yet but had a long read of the MB forum, I did look at it before but didn't have the cash to try it, I sooo need someone to sanity check my sums thou! But will try and keep reading it and see where I get to...

mabel - hehe yes I need to remember that mental image of the hot sweaty men trying to pull - put me right off!! lol. I didn't reply last night as my OH ended up staying for a couple of drinks and then coming home - he found the people who were in the pub too pretentious apparently! - much cheaper and we had a fab night in too! :D

The CC is in his name, we do live together and we split all the bills equally (he earns a few £k more than me, but has higher personal debt - and I like to keep things fair and equal too). I lent him several £k towards the beginning of our relationship which has been a long time in coming back to me, but he's now started paying me back (£20 this month and £20 last month) so that's going towards paying back my CC! I know it's not much (relative to the total amount) but every little helps! lol @ the MINI idea ... need to pass my driving test & save up for / buy the car first!

Yeah it would be in events, I've done one or two things already just for friends & family, e.g last year I did 2 x 1 day seminars (for about 10 people! so only tiny lol) and arranged some leaflets for a mate's gig.

It does look official doesn't it!! 5 is my lucky number thou so who knows ;)

Also rosy, no worries :) hope things are improving for you hun? xx

Hope everyone is having a lovely sunny Sunday! xx

glad you had a good night jenna, worked out well in the end! Best of luck with your business venture, could be handy having your oh pay u back a bit at a time, sorta like pocket money ( after your debts gone I mean)

Well, went to car boot sale, didnt find any mobiles but also didnt spend any money so that was good I suppose. Got home to a phone call from my best mates daughter to say my mate is in intensive care, she had a baby 2 days ago and had pre eclampsia, now she is having fits. We gave been best friends for 22 years now and this is very scary. So if I dont post for a while thats why, just waiting for info at the mo which is the worst bit.

well friend is doing ok, shes conscious but now has to have op to fix shoulder that she dislocated while having the fits. at least her and the baby are ok though so one less worry:j

on another note-ebay are pants! i had one item removed last night for 'keyword spamming??!!! basically i put 'as new' in the title which supposedly confuses people that are searching for new items... are people that stupid??!!! so-one item removed that i have to relist at extra cost, 7 unsold  and 2 sold for a grand total of 7.95, take out listing fees of 2.20 for all items and 50p final value fee for sold items and approx £2 postage...yay i made £3.25 woop de doooo. Don't think i will bother with ebay again for small items it just too much expense and hassle for what you get back, and one person is paying by postal order so will have to go into town to cash that      :rotfl: :rotfl:

hope you lot are having more success than me at the mo:D
