    Have you looked at tax credits Jen? maybe you could be entitled to free childcare. Look into what you will be entitled too? and then make a decision.

    Its quite shocking because sometimes people are better off claiming everything they can than work. I'm totally against people who don't work and just claim off the gov, but single parents who can't work and look after their kids at the same time are entitled to claim. Your not saying you won't work, your working, but unfortunately you can't do both.
    Tax credits normally give you 12hrs free a week. Not sure what age your child has to be to get that.

    thanks hayley i am going to try to go to the job centre friday as i have an interview for a job that is 15 hours which might be a problem and to see what i can do if i don't work

    i reckon you will still get a bargain on a ds nearer xmas, specially if u want 2- you can haggle a deal!
    Has your quidco payment got a date yet? Mine just says June.

    oh I hope so- I wanna be under 2k soon! Still waiting on about £150 from wedding shops for jewellery.....grrrrrrr hate waiting!

    Haven't spent any money today which is good, hope I can keep it up. Will need to withdraw a tenner on the 11th for scrapbooking but can I go to then with no spends? Got about 2 quid in my purse - had a fiver but they gave me a two pound coin in change so it had to go in my sealed pot!I have filled up with petrol so dont need that.

    wow mm under 2k will be exciting i am glad i decided not to get the ds! my darling daughter WILL get one this x mas but the deals will be better at xmas and you can all remind me what i was going to pay then i saw a deal in woolies the other day and there was a ds with 2 good games for £120 i am sure the deals will get better!!!
    the next 2 months will make or break my debt busting depending on what happens with work etc!! i am desperate to fill my isa too
    i have found a holiday club near me that is £15 a day from 9 30 till 3 30 might be a possiblilty would half my childcare costs! 18 days at £15 a day would be £270 much better!
