I've just spent nearly an hour looking at cars and working out my insurance etc. My test is in three weeks times, so i'm looking just in case i pass!!! I'm hoping to get a VW Lupo to last me until December, then maybe thinking about getting something a bit more flash. I'd love a 206 CC or Mini. I cannot wait to go crusing in the sun, I'm just hoping i pass!!! I will be gutted if i don't.

My first car was a little purple fiesta with the registration "AME" :D I miss my car, so so much.

I'm so determined to pass as I badly want a car, so hopefully my hard work will pay off. If i did fail i'd keep trying, i'd never give up!!!

Did you keep the reg Amy? I'd love a personalised number plate, unfortunately its all extra £££ which i don't have. I have a feeling my folks will buy me my first car, they keep dropping hints!

Thats the attitude. I passed on my third time. I failed on stoopid things as well.

The first one was nerves. He asked me to pull over in a suitable place and there were cars parked on both sides, narrow street, saw a space quickly so slowed down and went into it, and because i didnt check my rear view mirror thats a major fault, so automatically failed. That was about 10 mins into the test as well. I had 7 minor faults throughout (you are allowed 15 i think).

Second time i did everything well, he couldnt find a suitable corner for me to reverse around so went back to the test centre to do bay parking. My instructor had taken me there 10 mins before the test to practice, i had done it first time. I struggled on the test, and my left back wheel was 1/2 over teh white line = a major fault so an automatic fail. I had 4 minors that time.

Third time (lucky!) i passed with 1 minor fault. :T

Ooo that will be good if your parents buy you your car. I bought mine before i had even passed (dont ask i was stoopid) from ebay! I didnt keep the reg as i sold it to a friend (for £60!).

I'm quite a nervous person anyway, so i think i will fail my first test, i keep saying to my driving instructor i'm using this test as a practice run  . If i pass awesome, if i fail i won't get myself upset and let it ruin my next test.

You were so unlucky on each of your tests, but you got there in the end Amy  . Do you miss not having a car?

Awww you will be fine. To be honest your mind takes over during the test. The examiners are generally really nice as well. They will chat to you, but wont do it to put you off. All 3 of mine were really friendly and not horrible.

Yep very unlucky but it made it all the more special when i passed. I was so chuffed. :j

I miss my car every now and again. I only had it for 3ish months so not that long and i walked/got the bus everywhere before then. I noticed it more at first where i thought "oh i will just nip to asda"... errr no! I miss doing things like going food shopping when i want, or just nipping to my sisters (takes me 20 mins to walk there etc.). I dont miss paying the insurance or the petrol though! :rotfl:

    Thanks Amy :A

I think insurance and petrol will be a shock for me. I moan about how much it costs for the bus/train, but i'm think i'm in for a bigger shock when filling up.
A car will make my life so much easier, just getting to the gym to go spinning is a nightmare as my mum usually takes me and picks me up, which is slightly embarassing seeing as i'm 23. I'm also fed up asking my OH to drive us everywhere, he's got a flashy car and it eats petrol like theres no tomorrow.

The petrol will probably be a shock, but I think its shocking a lot of people at the moment. Hopefully it will stablise soon.

It will make such a difference to you. The main use for my car last year was to get to and from work (i worked locally), but at the moment I would only be using it at weekends. I will be getting a cheap run around at some point though... when i get a pay rise. :rotfl:
