    Afternoon everyone :).

It's very sad about the kittens Amy, sometimes things like that just happen.

I'm now over £60 in my paypal account so will take that out before 5 today (am waiting to see if I sell anything else before I do). Someone bought a £25 bracelet on etsy earlier but they haven't paid yet, as most people buying on etsy pay instantly I'm inclined to think they won't pay for it :(.

I have a little question about Amazon as I have quite a few textbooks which I'm not going to need again and would like to sell. I can get 1/3 of their value in cash if I sell them to the bookshop on my campus, do you think I would get any more on amazon? I looked at selling on there a while ago but the fees seemed really high and it looked like they decided how much to charge for p&p. That's all fine and well, but some of my book are 600 pages plus and would cost a fortune to post.

Oh, also, I've had enough of ebay and it's stupid policies/buyers/high fees, so I'm seriously contemplating closing my shop. I know in a way it's cutting my nose off to spite my face but I'm really getting sick of it. There are other places I sell so I won't have no income, but I know without ebay it will be significantly reduced...that said I won't be paying them £50 a month in fees. I suppose I should wait until I get a job.

lol Amy-bet it still tasted nice though!!
Hi Nicki, really dont know about amazon-perhaps for the smaller books but prob not recommended if the postage will be immense coz they dont seem to take that into account.
Just had email from lovefilm, they have closed my account and said that no payment will be taken!!! not sure if i totally believe that but will wait and see, will be mega happy if that is right coz i'll be up a tenner that i'd thought i'd lost.

    Hi Nicki

I agree with MM re the books. Probably better off getting 1/3 of their value in cash.

As for ebay, im with you on the fees. I cant believe they have introduced a final value fee, its so stupid. I have run out of things to sell now, so im glad.

MM - it was very nice. And now i feel all sick. lol.

1 hour 20 mins to go... i so want to go home have a bath and chill on the sofa.

Right i'm off now before OH gets home and realises ive been on here most of the day, sure i'll be back on my iphone later though!!! well-gotta make the most outta the expense havent i ?!

I'm not bothering with ebay again-too much hassle and expense, think they are getting a bit too big for their boots and starting to take the mickey with charges, i'm sure they will lose a lot of custom though. not that they will care!

    Hey everyone,

Having a 5 minute break from work as i missed lunch so thought i would come on here quickly, hope my boss doesn't notice.

So sorry to hear about the kittens Amy, thats so sad. Brilliant news paying £100 off the credit card, well done getting your debt below 8K. I hope you manage to get a great price for the phone on ebay. That will be another lump too put towards the debt.

I'm sooo looking foward to payday so i can update my sig, can't wait to see it below £3K.

Lovin' the colourful sig MM - looks brill.

Nichelette - I have sold so many books on Amazon, you seem to get a lot of buyers but as you say they decide the postage and its not alot, so i think by selling them on Amazon you will be out of pocket. I say sell them to the bookshop on campus.

Thanks for the advice with amazon everyone, looks like I'll be heading to the bookshop with them :).

Ebay fees are ridiculous, I'm sick of watching them getting even more greedy. I know that if I want to get rid of my supplies which I buy in wholesale quantities I should be able to sell them on etsy. It's an American site which charges about 10p to list an item and 3% final value fee so it's much cheaper than ebay.
