Hi Jak
Sorry if this has been metioned before but have you looking into applying for tax credits? If you get more than the basic £550 odd a year you can also apply for a sure start grant of £500 up until baby is three months old.:j0 -
Hopefully we will get the surestart grant but we need to check with them about dh imigration stuff first. Im going to apply anyway. We are still saving although we need to get a new fridge freezer this month so that takes priority. I've found one in currys for 315 which is massive and a rated for electric so that's looing like a winner.
Our savings are up to £1000 which is fab and we are registering the bay today so then we'll get child benefit! woo hoo! Then we can apply for CTC etc. so that's my project for next week. I'll come on next week and update properly. Grandma is down this week, which is a life saver! so i'd better go and talk to her!
Love

Heloooooo
sorry it's been ages and ages since I logged on! I've missed my DFW friends!
I'm so busy with the baby that washing my hair is a challenge so getting to the computer is virtualy impossible! Anyhow i'm at grandmas now fro a few days so am able to have some time to myself! Bliss!
This month we are back on track with our money, having had last month off for baby and celebratory reasons. This month we have put away £500 in regular saver 1, and £25 in reg. saver 2. The baby has £30 in his reg. saver and i've got 753 in BM saving account for a rainy day fund- although officially it's house deposit money, if we need it, we can use it~!
We are still waiting to hear about DH visa!!!!!! So it looks like he may not be able to work this winter.... He may be able to get some work on the boats so hopefully we will have something other than mat allowance coming in.
My mission now is to save £4000 for a house deposit by Christmas. My quidco money is in a seperate account to pay for Christmas so that expense is sorted out for free and i've got all the presents we need.
It was our first wedding anniversary on 31st August! I've decided that my challenge for the next anniversary is to have £10,000 altogether in out house deposit fund. So far we have £1350 ish so that will go towards that total. I'm away at the monent but when I get back i'm going to update our totals and try to work out a savings budget until then, baring in mind we have to save for our NZ trip too (at £80/100pcm + £150-200 for spending money). It's a lot to do but having paid off our debts i'm up for the challenge.
Hello to everyone who's supported my this year, and thanks for all your help!
Lots of love,
J and Sammy

Great to hear from you and that thigs are going well.
Doing anything with a newborn is a struggle. I remember getting good at eating dinner with one hand whilst feeding DD1.
Enjoy the rest and hope to see you on here a bit more.:j0 -
