What a great idea. My list (and I appreciate that I don't know the young chap concerned) would be something like:
Dried onions
Instant mashed potato
Tinned corned beef
Baked beans with sausages (or with veggie sausages)
Tinned peas
Packets of Bean Feast (1 x mince & onion, 1 x chilli, 1 x bolognese)
Long grain rice
Tinned frankfurters
Tinned mushrooms
Tinned tomatoes
Okay that's 12 things but I reckon there are at least a week's meals in there!
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

i just cant live without sweetcorn - tinned maybe but I prefer frozen. You can add it to so much!
I suppose you could use peas instead.0 -
Ooh I can't eat tinned. There was a story in the local paper where they found a stange looking bug once.
Photo and everything. Put me right off. Frozen is so much better. 0 -
i love sweetcorn too, you can add it to lots of things.0

I can only add to this by suggesting the versatility of the humble baked bean (and I have to go with quality on baked beans - Heinz only for me)
Baked Bean omelette
Baked Bean toasted sandwich
Baked Beans and Pasta/Spagetti
Baked Beans with Cheese on Toast
Baked Beans and Mashed Potato

Wish I'd thought of that yesterday Sheel. Made a chilli to go in the slow cooker not realising that I hadn't got any kidney beans :-[ so I rushed to the shop to buy some. I'd got loads of tins of beans in though.
I bet it's nicer too cause, although I eat kidney beans I don't really like them ;DWhen life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt
