The manager will be under targets to get so much money in per month, and we are almost at the end of the month - this is when Welcome start their heavy handed threats, but please remember they are just that.

Is the account manager calling from a mobile by any chance?

If she comes to your home again ask her to wait a minute while you phone the call centre to check that your car is going to be repossessed, and more importantly to see if she should be on your doorstep at all.

I wonder what her response will be, hmm.

  • Yes, the account manager IS calling from a mobile - not the office number. And her visit appears to be ''unofficial'' since it is not logged on my account at all when I check with the office.I just recalled something else she said on the doorstep: "It will pay you to answer your phone when I ring, 'cos this visit has just cost you 25 quid."
    What a cheek!

Hi i have a secured loan with wf stupid i know now i was strugglin to pay it back and after months of letters phone calls and charges i eventually had to rewrite it to be able to make lower payments. The secured loan is in mine and my partners name but my partner is not on my mortgage details nor has any other property of his own his name was only on it as i wouldn't have been able to get it on my own as i didn't work when i took it out so does that mean seen as he has no property that they would only chase me for the money if we ever split seen as i have a property
What would happen if the company does go under does anyone know

Im afraid to say people VERY DISSAPOINTED.
after setting the call up i know 8 people came on the call only keving from bloomberg and myself actually spoke!!
judging by the level of feeling on this subjuct i would have thought more effort would have been made!!
i will try again next thursday same time 6pm.

Apologies for missing the phone in, in hospital; will be able to make it next thursday.
I am not afraid to speak up and say my peice and 'welcome' the chance.
I have sent an email to my trading standards debt advisor on the this and explained that he might like to listen in on the conversations, unsure if he would be in a position to make any comments.
    Thanks for setting up Madmac:T:T

Right! The reason she is calling from her mobile is because it won't be recorded!!

Get all her details; name, position etc and make a formal complaint of the harrassment you are suffering.

    The head office address is:

    Freepost RLUU-ERRT-XKLR
    Welcome Finance
    Compliance Services
    Mere Way
    Ruddington
    Nottingham
    NG11 6NZ

She should not be using their overcharge as a threat!

Advise the HO that you want swift action taken before you call the police and that you want to be kept up to date about what action is taken against her.

Unfortunately I don't see this happening now. If it were to happen, it would just transfer to the administrators or company that takes over.

Because of the large amount that RBS has in Cattles at the moment with the 500 mil they've lent to them. They'll be under some government pressure I would imagine to do all they can to recover it, and that would mean keeping them in business to collect the money.

It wouldn't make sense to force Cattles to sell up, although I don't know what would happen once the banks get their money back. I can't see them pumping the same amounts into them again, or at least not for a long time.
