Would definatly say its worth it yes, you get alot more discounts than you would with the free one. I use mine alot and definatly think it was worth the £10.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0

Can't you get a free card with your student bank account? My student account with Lloyds gives me a free NUS Extra card.0

Also great if you intend to go abroad as I see that it doubles up as an ISIC card, so you can get student discounts around the world.
If you don't get a free NUS card, as someone else said, then definitely get the £10 one. Also found that. I havent had any trouble just using my normal University card whenever i have asked for Student Discount.
I ordered my NUS Extra last september when i first started and only got round to picking it up a couple of weeks ago, as ive not needed it due to using my University ID for student discount.:rotfl:0 -
can anyone tell me what discounts you get at holiday inn with your NUS extra card please? I went on the website but it wouldn't even tell me what discount i would get without buying a card. I wanna see if it is worth it first.0

I got the NUS Extra (ISIC) while studying with the OU and even though I keep forgetting to ask for the discount I've still found it useful.
Book shop, McDonalds!, Tate Modern (cheaper for exhibisions and for the audio hire), Art books at other museums too, hmm... can't remember where else now.
I'm not used to getting discounts - will have to ask more.
it does go from Sept to Sept each year so you might be better off buying it later rather than now.
You will get a booklet which lists the discounts too.
I'll see if I can get in and take a screen grab... back in a mo!
UPDATE: I've taken a screen grab but I can't post it up here... if you pm me with your email address maybe I could send it across - it's just the page of logos - about 70+ let me know if you want that.

I bought the NUS Extra card for my first year at uni and it cost me £10. To be honest, I probably didn't even get £10 worth of savings over the year. I hardly ever used it.
Everyone is different and some people will find it does save them a lot of money.
I felt myself considering buying things even if I didn't need/want them just because of the discount and I wanted to get my £10 worth.0
