That's not right. The website says that when you are in the red, you will be charged as normal. You are only not charged when withdrawing your own cash so to speak.

So if you have a credit balance of, say, £500 and you withdraw £1000 (or £10,000!) cash - how would that be treated ?

Would it be treated as 2 transactions e.g. free withdrawal of £500 of your own money and £500 "cash advance" attracting a charge ? Or all as one or the other ?

You'll not be charged a cash withdrawl fee even if you have a negative balance. You'll only be charged for foreign withdrawls.

OK. So in my previous example you would not be charged any "fee", or any interest on your own £500, BUT you would then start to incur interest at (6.9%, 15.9%, x% - delete as appropriate) on any "normal" debt ?

I think they mean you will be charged interest as normal - you do not get charged for taking money out even if in the red.

Trust me, I've done the training and I'm running people through it all. There's no fee, I just checked with my team leader

So is there no 2.75% fee for foreign cash advances?

Ah, so you will still pay for foreign withdrawals. I was wondering about that. Do you know whether it's the normal cash advance fee plus the currency conversion weighting, or just the weighting?
