Do you mean there will be an introductory CB rate of 2%? If so, what dates is it between? 16/10 and 10/12 seem to be odd dates to select... :rolleyes:0 -
see above post 21 and the answer is yes

On the Cashback page it says "our best ever deals.. from 16th September 2005..watch this space". Perhaps it's that.0

This does seem like a good card but waiting for the catch. Also wondering if they will reduce the cashback from 1% after a while like they did on their normal egg card a while back?
I just applied for a Morgan Stanley card so wondering if I should cancel this application in favour for this new egg card...Current Debt Owed To Family: [STRIKE]£12,575[/STRIKE] £9,000 :wall:Estimated Debt Free... [STRIKE]Dec 2012[/STRIKE] Aug 2012

So am I right in saying that this is still seen as a credit card and not a debit card?Current Debt Owed To Family: [STRIKE]£12,575[/STRIKE] £9,000 :wall:Estimated Debt Free... [STRIKE]Dec 2012[/STRIKE] Aug 2012

its still a credit card, but has the debit aspect - one point about the credit limits (i work for egg, but not in the main contact centre, so i cant answer to many specific querys). credit limits will be at a maximum of 2 x net salary. whilst this may upset some people used to high balances, i think its there just to make sure people keep any debt at a manageable level0

just spoken to egg customer services and the chap I spoke to stated that all items paid for by this card are covered like normal credit card purchases even when the card is in credit :T0

This appears to have come too late for Martins Money Tips email this week, unfortunately0

Officially its still embargo'd till tomorrow - but as its gone public...
As far as Im concerned this is a pre-loaded credit card (akin to Liverpool victoria on spending abroad). The rate is good and the Xmas cashback is great.
It's beatable via an A&L current account and amex plat cashback most of the time, but the regularly discussed problems with that mean this is a very good card. I will be updating the cashback card article with this as i think that's where it fits best
PS the interest rate is 6.9% but it is rate for risk and the max is 15.9%, i would consider this to be primarily for loading in advance or direct debiting in fullMartin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.
