It could well be another Bulldog fiasco so I'll hold off for a bit and see how it goes. It does appear to be an incredible deal though! I wonder who's behind it.
Although 24Mb is really fast there are few legitimate uses of the internet that require more than 2Mb.
    Can I help?

This is just the start of companies offering this ADSL2 service. The only drawback with this company at the moment is its very limited availability. It's only available at certain exchanges in London at the moment. I think if you keep an eye out. Over the next year, you will see a lot more companies offering this type of service. This should make it a bit more available, and start a bit more competition in this area offering these kind of speeds.

  • I have taken the plunge and signed up to BeThere - although my exchange will not be compatable until March 2006. We will just have to wait and see what happens!!

We are going to subscribe too. Not available until Nov 2005 though.

Apparantly it is stated on their webpage that they are a UK company and not related to any overseas company (not a Swedish company then).

And also it is listed you are not allowed to use it for business purpose, I think as long as we are not using it to run email service/business etc., it should be fine.

I have heard it is more difficult to reverse to 1meg after using 24 meg service because the set up is different. Any comment? Thanks.

Its not fir business use, as they have a Business product too. The Business one is £70pm iirc.

Once on LLU (such as Be* Un limited), to move to another ISP you need to "cease & reprovide", which will mean you'll have downtime of up to 10 working days. It is not possible to use a MAC to move away from an LLU ISP.

I've just read an article that Pipex are going to start offering the same speeds at few exchanges (60) in early 2006.

For anyone that is interested in these speeds, and can't get them yet. I wouldn't worry too much. I really think we are going to see lots of companies offering these kind of speeds soon.

UKOnline & f2s, who use Easynet's LLU equipment are saying they'll have 24Mbps enabled soon. UKOnline have confirmed they will charge less that £30 per month.

Bulldog have also said they soon will roll-out 20Mbps.
  • I've signed up and as I live in central london, it says it is available sep-2005, although i havent been connected yet and I signed up about two weeks ago. Anyone got theirs connected?

All this talk of ADSL2 and 24Mbit is depressing, we can only get 512Kbit - and that was only enabled 2 months ago!
