Problem with AOL

Well AOL have done it now. Would appear that they are seriously capping speeds on an evening. Been notching up a mind blowing 56-170kps on a 2 meg subscription:mad: Decided to obtain my mac code from aol, wasnt too traumatic, got through no sales patter to stay. Mac arrived via email the next day, signed up to Sky. Only £5 a month for 8 meg.
Anyone else experiencing speed problems with AOL? There seems to be a lot of banter on forums that people are leaving AOL hand over fist.0 -
My Aol was terrible yesterday. I couldn't log into my emails all night(I use IE rather than going through the clumsy AOL software. I tested my speeds today and they came out at 2594 and 360, which is less that average according to their graphs. I'd like to move but am hesitant for several reasons:
1. My OH runs his business emails through AOL and has them on his adverts, letterheads etc.
2. I 've had my email address for 10 years and love it and wouldn't want to give it up(sad I know!)
3. We have Sky TV and could use their BB/Phone/TV package but our phone is unfortunately on a business contract and Sky won't let me use the phone package on a business line.
If we changed BB provider could we still keep our AOL email addresses or do they disappear with the service?0 -

The 2Meg service was upgraded to 8meg a while ago. If you're getting 6.5Meg count yourself very fortunate as there are many AOL sufferers getting below 1Meg. My speed varies between 5Meg on a good day to 0.5 Meg on a normal one. I'm interested to find out whether this speed variation is general or just AOL.Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0 -
2mb hasnt been upgraded im back down to 2mb now0

Im with Aol and seems that my connection has been moved over to carphone warehouse and am now getting dropped connections at least everyday and most days several times. I used to leave the router on all day and when latop started up I could just go into internet explorer now I have to go through the rigmorole of restarting (rebooting) the router before being able to connect...its not much fun anymore and cant seem to get aol tech support to care less...they seem to think that its reasonable to have to go through this process every time I want to connect.
Anyway I am thinking of moving (suprisingly) and have seen that TalkTalk have LLU at my exchange and this might increase my speed from the low 512 Im on at the minute, if I do move will I keep getting this dropped connection problem as they are carphone warehouse based as well???0
