Grey boxes near speed cameras Pics added !!
I have noticed some of our familiar yellow speed cameras now have had a grey friend spring up next to them. The new box is grey and has what looks like a light at the top, pointing at the first of the calibration lines on the road. Anyone know what they really are??

Is it where little policemen sits and write down your car number?

Lots of grey boxes have small rectangular pillar boxes next to or near them. They are simply the power supply for the camera.The man without a signature.0

No these have been added to well established cameras. The box looks a bit like a floodlight aimed at the timing lines on the road and stands on a pole about the same height as the gatso camera.

If it's a floodlight then it could be an infra red light to illuminate the car/driver/timing lines?The man without a signature.0 -
In Wales we have grey ones that catch you if you jump a red light on busy traffic lights. Could it be one of those? They are about floodlight size.

These are on a straight bit of road. I`m going to have to add a pic !!
