Cashminder acc declined

I have applied for a cashminder account but suspect this will be declined as they couldn't give me an answer straight away. I really need a bank account as my wages are paid directly into my bank but my current account is frozen (just starting a DMP). Can anyone suggest any account I will be able to open to get my wages paid into? Really worried now.
Thanks
You should still be ok with the Co-op. They couldn't give me an answer on the same day either - asked me to ring back 3 days later. Its so they can do the ML checks.BSC member 131 :j Now bring me that horizon...

Same as .. and i'm not on the electoral role (did have ID though).. got referred but was accepted a few days later!:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
Coop Cashminder - I didn't get an answer the same day, but 3 days later I got a pretty green card in the post followed by the PIN a day or so after that.
Alternative: I have an HSBC Basic Account which I opened when I went on a DMP. I went in with two forms of photo ID (passport and Driving licence), and two forms to prove address (gas bill and phone bill). They opened my account there and then, with just £10.
Be sure you ask for a Basic Account. Tell them you want the card that doesn't have chip 'n pin or any overdraft facilities - that way there is no mistake. You can only draw cash (£200 a day) with this card, but at any ATM. You can set up Direct Debits, and their internet banking is superb. I also opened an on-line savings account with them.
Not being able to pay with a card in a shop or online is not that bad, once you get used to it. You learn to budget because you can't buy more than you have in your pocket!0 -

I think you are right, I can't think of anyone posting on here that they opened a Cashminder and had it all opened in the same day. It always takes a few days to a week (well, if you go by the experiences of posters on here).====0 -

Thank you, Co-op approved my account and just had my wages paid into it. Woop Woop!
