Cashminder acc declined

Hi all,

I found out today my application for a Cashminder Account has been declined. They said I could appeal this but has anyone done this and they have overturned their decision?

I don't know what to do know

Many thanks

Have you looked at your credit report? I think they sometimes get declined if there are "fraud" searches present on the report

Hi, yes i would agree a flag for fraud (not saying you have) can knacker your credit somewhat.if possible i would check your file. but in the meantime i would appeal the decision, and go get myself a pay as you go mastercard.
there are still further options if you find yourself on benefits in the form of a cash card at the post office.this in conjuction with a leading gold coloured payg mastercard can ease the burdon of not having a bank account.
hope this helps.and goodluck im sure things will be fine as this is not unusual did you specify" cashminder account ".???

You could also try halifax easy cash account. You can pay dds and SO and you also get a Visa Electron card.

I have applied for a cashminder account but suspect this will be declined as they couldn't give me an answer straight away. I really need a bank account as my wages are paid directly into my bank but my current account is frozen (just starting a DMP). Can anyone suggest any account I will be able to open to get my wages paid into? Really worried now.

    Thanks

  • if you have a nationwide near your work then you could pop down for the forms that you can take away and fill in, then it only takes a few mins to go and hand your forms in, just remember to take some i.d and proof of address.
    good luck

Bear in mind nationwide are not as bankrupt freindly as they used to be.....some people have been told its ok to open an account only to be refused later..correct me if i'm wrong though isnt the nationwide cash builder account a savings account & NOT a regular bank account?

Have you tried barclays? they offer a simple cashcard account with day to day banking DD's etc

    details here

I haven't tried barclays yet. I'm not actually bankrupt, I'm just starting a DMP therefore my credit file is poor due to arrears on cc's etc.

No nationwide near work but I will definately go into town on my next day off which is Wednesday and try get something sorted. If I have no joy there I'll pop into Barclays too.
