  • yes that is a savings account so you are restricted in what you can and can't have with it.

    I told them that i was bankrupt and they advised me to have that one.
    i do know where they stand with DD's and such because im lucky not to have any of them anymore

    I don't need to set up any direct debits, i just need to be able to have my wages paid into it.

    just lookin at my card it is link as well so you can use it at most cash machine, i kow some accounts restrict you to only there cash machines so i'd deff look into the cash builder

    Fermi, any ideas which of these are more likely to accept with a bad credit rating.

    All those accounts are "basic" ones that are intended for people with a bad credit rating. The government and FSA blackmailed/bullied the banks into making these available so that everyone can have access to basic banking facilities, no matter your record.

    However, they are still subject to fraud and identity checks. So you need to make sure that basic things are right (like being on the electoral register) to reduce the chances of being declined.

    Thanks. I'll print the list off and go into town armed with my id etc on Wednesday (1st day off in 9 days). I'm on the electoral reg as I had a postal cote through the door so hopefully I should be able to open one of these accounts.

    I had a NatWest basic account when I started my DMP - you get a Solo card and online banking and I had a bad credit rating (missed & later payments & large amount of debt). After 3 years of 'behaving', they upgraded me to a 'proper' account.

    Thanks but I have an account with an overdraft and a personal loan with natwest and need to set up a seperate bank account because of the dmp.
