 I have applied for the Amazon card which I am looking forward to but has anyone tried getting the Lastminute.com card recently too? They are having problems with on-line applications. Looks like they have seen Martin's article maybe?! :rotfl:
If anyone has successfully applied and got this card, can you actually use it for any purchase or only with lastminute.com?:T If a job needs doing, do it :T0 -
If you apply through MutualPoints you get 1500 MutualPoints as well as the cards loyalty bonus. At least that is how I read this email from MutualPoints when I enquired.Dear xxxx,
Thank you for your email.
Please note that the reward 1,500 points is from mutualpoints for taking up the Card from Amazon through us.
If there is anything or offers from the merchant, then I would request you to please contact the merchant.
Hope this helps and have a nice day!0 -
My own experience of this card was negative, resulting in a long wait, multiple complaints and much passing of the buck.
The long and short of it is that Halifax and Amazon systems are not well linked and both companies claim the lack of voucher is the others fault.
I eventually got a £15 account credit off amazon after multiple complaints and canned the card.I wonder why it is, that young men are always cautioned against bad girls. Anyone can handle a bad girl. It's the good girls men should be warned against.-David Niven0 -
Yay ! Spent 1.00 on a packet of incense that I use anyway, cut the card up, and got a 15.00 voucher in my e-mail this morning! Now thats what I call a bargain! Thanks Moneysavers for this great heads up !0

I'm still waiting on my voucher :-(
I thought you got in when you made your first purchase - mine was some weeks ago, although I haven't had my first bill yet. Do you have to settle your first bill to get the voucher?0 -
I'm still waiting for me pin and card. I've been sent three credit agreement forms to sign and date! I even phoned them up a few weeks ago when they said they had recieved the forms and will be sending me a new card. Instead of getting the card I got two credit car agreement forms.
Not impressed so far.0 -

I could not agree more! After spending around 8 hours on the phone yesterday to NPower and completing my 'log' of their unbelievable catalogue of communicative incometence I decided (foolishly) that having got my Amazon card through in the post I would activate it and spend my £15 on a webcam at Amazon as a treat to myself.....
I am sure you will see where this is going and why I would like to think I could live myentire life without further contact with a call centre:-)
I called the number to 'activate' it and that went fine - then I asked the woman if I could immediately spend my £15 at Amazon i.e. was it credited on my card - she didn't know and told me to contact the number given in my letter from Amazon/Halifax to find out.
I tried to register my account via the Amazon website but it failed several times until finally allowing me to do so but still no mention of where my £15 was.
So I duly called the number in my letter - and Gavin told me in enthusiastic tones that he could see the £15 credited on my account and that I could indeed complete my purchase at Amazon and it would be effectively free - he also told me that after 2 weeks I would get a further £15 voucher and in this brief moment of happiness I told him that was wonderful and clicked complete purchase for my webcam.
I told Gavin that there was still no mention of the £15 in the confirmation etc and he gave me another number to call - at which point flashbacks of Npower were occurring before my very eyes.
He had of course given me a number that led me to pre-activated cards at Amazon who wondered why on earth I had been put through to them - I was also wondering this.
The guy there told me he was giving me another number at which point small black things were floating past in my vision and I became convinced that I was having a stoke - I calmly but firmly told him that he number he was now giving me did not appear in any of the letters I had received from Amazon/Halifax nor was it in their 'welcome to your new Amazon.co.uk Mastercard' pamphlet.
He replied that this was the correct number and I told him that I thought I was reaching the end of all outward or inward signs of sanity and would shortly implode as this was my fourth dept and I just wanted my £15.
He agreed that it was all a bit ridiculous - and said he would transfer me through where I spoke with Julie whose whereabouts I immedately attempted to ascertain.
She informed me that she worked at the Halifax card service and that she did not know why the number did not appear but that there were a lot of depts as it was 2 companies with varying depts in each! oh joy!
I recounted the tale so far and she said she was astounded which was only one of my emotions along with frustrated, annoyed, bewildered, incandescent and nearing spontaneous combustion.
She told me that she was going to read out the details of the amazon card account and subsequently told me that the £15 is not credited to the card but is credited to my Amazon account and that Amazon would email me a voucher.
She told me that Gavin was telling 'lies' as he could not have seen the £15 nor would any further £15 miraculously appear after a fortnight.
I uttered the immortal words 'I wish to make a complaint' and she duly started to recount what I had told her as I quietly seethed and tried to remember anything from my meditation class.
She told me that they would trace the call and that a manager would contact me within 5 Bank working days.
I tried to retrace Gavin but to no avail but spoke with Dermott who started a complaint from the Amazon end - my theory being that at some point they might just meet in the middle.
Meanwhile my webcam, paid for my me,is on its way and will at least provide a live record of the moment when they call me to say that they have no record of my compaint and I just disappear in a puff of smoke...
P.S. is it acceptable for me to print these 2 pages as part of my complaint? I'm not sure what the rules are here - it would show that other people are frustrated and the £15 offer isn't being made clear - and no one is identifiable - however I will check with Martin I think...What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
Well I finally got my card and pin.
They sent an email to confirm the £15 voucher.
So its all worked out okay.
Apart from the initial offer its not a great reward credit card.0
