Spanish car hire - confused

But, given that it's completely impossible to return a car empty, that means that full-full hires are always better value.

But others have posted suggesting that:
(a) the full-full hires cost a lot more, not just EUR15-20; and
(b) the main problem is that as they are booking via brokers they don't know which company (and hence which policy) they will end up with.
This issue really does need the brokers to sort out their suppliers. But I suspect that most brokers have less power over the suppliers than vice versa. Someone like Holiday Autos, though, ought to be strong enough to make their suppliers use full-full, if they had enough hassle from their customers over the issue.0 -

Quite agree Marky. But there's also the 'convenience' factor with FTE.
Last time I hired FTF with Record, it took two and a half hours to get the car sorted as the queue was a mile long (presumably MSErs!)! And, when I returned it, there was no-one to sign-off the full tank ("Please leave keys at the office") and they said, in effect, "trust us we don't cheat our customers"!!!
Which leaves you worried until the next CC statement drops through the door!0
