I've ordered the 500gb HDD...let's hope it's not a con.0

I've checked my consignment number and its tracked correctly on the Parcelforce site as delivered to hub. So I'm pretty sure we'll be ok.
I'm expecting mine on Tuesday (cos of the B/H) I'll update when received.

Does anyone know if this drive is compatible with Windows Vista? According to the technical details it's compatible with every other windows os version up to XP.0

Pretty irrelevent, it;'s USB so the OS doesn't matter, it will be seen as a mass storage device and use internal windows drivers.0 -
Had one of these delivered this morning. 500 gig HDD and a Samsung 16x DVD Writer. So far so god and a real bargain.0

The DVD Writer is a Samsung Writemaster and the HDD is a 500 gig Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 model ST3500630A.
My reference to God in my previous post was a typo. What's an extra o between friends?
I hope this helps. I have tested the read / write transfer rates of the HDD and all seams fine. I have not tested the DVD burner yet of the card reader so can't comment there. The case itself, although fairly bulky, is quite well made and all components are easily and quickly accessed. The internal fan, despite previous comments, seams fairly quiet.
The bottom line, a fairly decent 16x DVD burner, a multi-card reader and a fair quality 500 gig HDD for 40 notes plus p&p can't be bad.0 -

Considering a quick price search show the HDD alone is retailing for about 60 notes, all in all an excellent deal, even if you just harvest the drive.

Got mine this morning, plugged it in and it worked straight away without any problems. I haven't tried the card reader yet though.0
