Well you can't email them so I filled in their contact us form page. I'll post a reply (if any) I get.

Update: Well it's been over a week and I've still not had a reply. If they are not based in the UK I don't know if its actually worth contacting trading standards. I may contact OfCOM and see what they say.

Well I've just rung OfCOM and was informed that they can't do anything unless I've been charged by BT for that call.

I explained to him that it says the call is free but asks you to ring an 077 number which obviously is charged at mobile rates by BT.

He still said I have to be charged for the call before they could look into it further and this is even though it's obvious I'm going to get charged for it.

I've never heard of anything so stupid. I don't know if OfCOM think that BT will make an exception to this 077 number and not charge for it but charge for ALL other 07 numbers!

Well I made a call to their so-called free number (the 07x) yesterday so as to give it to OfCOM to prove that the call wasn't free. I had to wait until today before it showed up on our online BT account which it did. Just before emailing OfCOM with it all I checked dialwise's site again and guess what they've changed it back to an 0844 number and said the cost of this call is 1ppm.

Therefore they are no longer misleading as they were and the MSE's CallChecker can now include them again.

You can check for yourselves here.

I'll PM MSE CheckerMan and point this out.
  • lucky you that price was left 1p, my destination became 3p  - so I just simply use other dial thrue providers :D
