    Hi all

I have just received a response to the voluntary repossession letter I sent to the Halifax. This is the link to the letter which I sent to them which is on my main thread

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=853895&page=4

The letter I have just received from the Halifax is as follows:

    Cover Letter

Thank you for your letter dated 19th May 08.

I am enclosing a surrender of keys form for completion and this should be returned to this office in the enclosed envelope or taken into your local Halifax Office with the keys to the mortgaged property.

At this time no contact has been received from the OR but if the bankruptcy is registered before Voluntary Possession is completed they will need to confirm they are in agreement with the process.

    Surrender Of Keys Agreement Form

This form is to be completed by all parties to a mortgage who propose to give us voluntary vacant possession who are surrendering the keys to a mortgaged property in accordance with a court order.

I hereby voluntarily consent to give you vacant possession of the above property.

I confirm that all keys have been provided and that the property is secure, vacant and unfurnished. Should there be any contents remaining, these will be disposed of by you.

[strike]If you suffer any loss following the sale of the property, I understand that debt collecting agents or solicitors will be instructed to pursue me and any guarantor/cash depositor to recover the loss. I am also aware that interest will continue to be charged on the outstanding mortgage debt until the property is sold.[/strike][strike]
I am aware that any life assurance policies that are assigned to you may, at your discretion, be surrendered, and the proceeds used to reduce the debt owing under the mortgage.
I understand that you subscribe to the Council of Mortgage Lenders’ Possession Register. In all cases where possession of the property is given to you, you submit details to this centralised register. I am aware that this may affect my ability to borrow money from other lenders in future years.

    Other Details

A portion of the form which asks for personal details, employment details etc[/strike]

    Friday 6th June 2008

Well we went round to the rental house to measure up, and it appears to have shrunk since we were there last   It's still a lovely house, but how the heck are we gonna get our stuff in there?!

H has set up diagrams of each room on visio, and we're going to measure the furniture we have and see what we take with us and what goes on freecycle. Am feeling rather weary, so off to my friend's house for a girlie chinwag and !!!! tv. Tomorrow is more than soon enough to start packing.

Now would you believe I really don't drink?!! Me and friend sit with coffee and fix the world - she knows there's no point giving me alcohol so has given up offering! :p

Freecycle is a web-based thing where you have things you want to get rid of but are too good to be thrown away. So you advertise them as 'on offer' with a description, and basically where you live, and other people can come and take it. Can be anything from cardboard boxes, to TVs, wardrobes, etc Fantastic way of recycling but you can sometimes miss out on the really good stuff!!

I found a unit for my TV, stereo, etc in The Greenhouse - absolutely gorgeous :T:TAnd my friend is letting me store it in the garage and will bring it round next weekend! No luck on the wardrobe front though  so I guess I shall have to keep looking!!

"how proud you must feel for your kids, what an example." and what an example you would be setting for your children, what a judgemental and sanctimonious post this is.

I would firmly suggest that you keep your judgemental comments to yourself, why even venture on a board like this if you have no intention of making any positive contribution. Let's all hope that life doesn't deal you any harsh blows as with an attitude like that you'd have severe problems dealing with them.

Those who don't make mistakes learn nothing.

I was actually referring to you as with such a judgemental first post one of the first things that comes to mind, apart from troll, is that you clearly don't understand that in life we make mistakes.

Oh and by the way please look at this sticky about comments made on this board.
