You can indeey and they are jut as tasty.
I do myself a salmon (or tuna) sandwich for work then use the rest for fishcakes, you can freeze them too. Cook in the oven from frozen.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

I like to make fishcakes with tinned fish - a storecupboard standby
I add about double the weight/volume of mased potato to drined tinned fish. Season, add chopped cornichons or capers, shape and chill or freeze. Then fry :T
As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add it to the existing fishcake thread to keep recipe suggestions together.

I was supposed to be making tuna fishcakes for tea ... have defrosted some frozen mash scraps and it's really runny and liquid - I've added 3 massive tablespoons of flour is a bit firmer but no where near enough for forming fishcakes.
So I have added onions, gherkins, garlic and boiled egg ... would I be better off trying to fry the mixture or bake it in the oven???
Think it's going to be dodgy either way but not much else I can do - fry or bake??
Pls help!
Thanks Norm xBon App's Scraps!MFb40 # 130 -
Hi i think your mash would have been fine once warmed when i take mine out the freezer it always seems wet but once warmed it is fine. But as you have added all your bits i would fry rather than bake.Hope this helps for next time.Heather0

I would bake it rather than fry it that way it should dry out a little and won't burn in the frying panI am the leading lady in the movie of my life
