My cat is missing...

If your local freecycle has a "cafe" (kind of like community noticeboard-and if you're not sure just email the local freecycle organizer and ask) you could put a notice with photo up there too.
It is horrible-one of mine wanders sometimes-but it isn't fair IMHO to keep cats restricted-and she always finds her way home after a few days. Longest was a week and I'd just about given up when a neighbour knocked on the door and pointed out she was back and sunning herself in our front garden-little mare !!I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Hope she comes home soon. Maybe offer a small reward, it would encourage children etc to check garages? Glad you got a torch, I can usually get mine to follow the beam of the light (but they are daft as spades). Shaking the dry food at the same time helps, and may be worth a try now? Good thinking the lady who said do as if you are walking home.
I hope you get some good news tonight.

lol, believe me i hope she has got bored and found a new home - i just wish she'd let me know first. I just want to know that she is safe. And her icke cat friend here is missing her too - they were best friends.
Thanks duchy, i have just tried to sign in to my local freecycle, but my account has been deregistered cause i haven't used it for that long! just reregistered. I figure if that dont have a forum i may be able to post a wanted:help with finding my cat ad.
Thanks0 -
yeah ive got new posters that says 'reward', that way i can vary the reward dependendant on who finds her - flowers/ choc - can't really afford a substantial financial reward. x0

Notify all the local vets, put up posters at tesco, postoffice etc, if she's micro chipped let them know she's gone missing.
One of mine does sometimes wander off for a couple of days and every time I worry myself sick... He always turns up in the end though
Hope she comes back!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I take notice of missing pet posters in supermarket notice boards - have you tried postering them? people often come from a wider area to the supermarket.
We have a awol cat for a year - she kept roaming to our old house which was 5 mins from here - again someone thought she was a stray and fed her - gave her a bed in there shed... all in good faith thinking she was a stray and in need of help.
I know how upsetting it is when your cat goes missing - but they are resourceful snowy managed a year AWOL - she had gone for 2 weeks when we lived in our old house for no reason either... she came back dirty but fine (she was a pure white cat).
GOOD LUCKDebt free May 2016 (without the support of MSE forum users that would never have been possible - thank you all)0 -
misfire you have given me hope - i'm losing faith as it has been 8 days

As soon as (i have tommorow afternoon off work) i will widen the poster search area, thanks tine
Fingers crossed xxxxxxxxx0 -
Without wanting to sound morbid or depressing, have you also phoned your local council to see if they've picked up a cat? I know it's not what you'd want to do - I've had my share of cats go missing and I live in the middle of nowhere so they've gone off round fields for miles. I know bin men will sometimes pick up a dead cat if they pass one on their rounds and some people will call the council to pick one up if they see it. I know it's not a nice thought

It's also worth going round calling her at all hours - you may sound stupid and get your neighbours thinking you need locking up but sometimes it's just persistence that pays off.
It's also worth asking around all your neighbours personally if you haven't already - even if you don't know them. I've found a lot of people will keep an eye out for you if you are polite and friendly, even if they're not cat lovers themselves.
Good luck, I hope you find her soon. I did have one go missing for nearly a month once and he came home fit and well, others have gone off for a week or more. A week of not sleeping properly isn't much fun!LBM: March 2008DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 1980 -
Keep talking to people - whitter whitter whitter missing cat whitter whitter.
My old tom cat went missing a fortnight before we moved house, and someone had heard someone else talking about our missing cat and so let me know about the now skinny tom that had been sitting every night on their dustbin, singing - about 100 yards from home. I had never even met them before.
I had been EVERYWHERE
But just keep the grapevine going - tell the most irritating busybody all about it, tell schools or brownies or cubs.
Good luck (and the person who found them loved the bunch of flowers)Always another chapter0 -
Hi, bad news i'm afraid - we found mimi dead in a neighbours back garden

RIP mimi, i'm sorry, you were such as special cat.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions to help find her and for the kind wishes.
