LOL Mizmir!
Well free bingo last night reaped no reward.........bah!
Today I need to do some more of that bloomin college work, then go to college this evening for a bit, before I have to go for an x-ray - at 7.30pm!!! I didn't realise you could get appointments for evenings!
Moneywise, the loan money should be going into my account today, so I can clear some credit cards and delight in ringing to cancelI will also update the snowball and the signature so you can see what the horrors of my current figures are!!
Have a good day everyone xxx
Humph about the Bingo, best of luck with college (and the x-ray ouch!)

hiya
nice to see a new diary as you always manage to give me inspiration. i love the idea of 'not using the car' as being debt busting. i only ever include what i pay off / save so it's a good way to think that if you don't use the car, you're not adding more to the debt. i can't believe we sold my car nearly a year ago. haven't missed it yet so it was defintely the right choice.
look forward to reading your diary xx0 -
A good start to the day.......
I don't know if any of you old timers can remember my concerted effort to reduce my gas/electric bill because we are paying £149 a month
Well, the efforts have paid off - after the last quarterly bill, we were over £200 in credit, so got £200 back from them, then today we got a new bill showing we are just over £100 in credit, so have asked for that back.
Also, they are reducing the monthly payment down from £149 to £106, so £46 a month :j with effect from June's payment (too late to do it for May's).
I am going to do a standing order for £46 a month to the frozen egg card, so that I can capitalise on the saving, rather than let it get "lost" in the general "spending black hole".....
.....a good start to the day :j

No sadly, (just doing the figures now) the total debt has increased by about £2000    Oh well, can't do anything about it now other than to crack on with getting it cleared.
Amazingly the snowball calculator still shows us as being debt free in December 2010, which is the same as before, so that is a very positive thing.
I have called Egg and closed my account (well, just need to ring again for final interest on 18th May, but they have marked it as closed and cleared) and took great delight in doing so......he offered me a BT rate, but I declined. Maybe that was not the right thing to do but I have been so incensed with egg over the years and their habit of increasing their rates "because we can do what we like" that I just wanted rid, once and for all!
I also paid £1700 off OH's egg card (the frozen one) which leaves £2500 on there which I am sure I can clear this summer with a bit of £10 a day challenge stuff!!
So, essentially, this just leaves one credit card (HSBC - never been a problem to us, often offer good deals) and the loans.
Of course, the loans will reduce automatically, and I can overpay on some, and save up to pay off the others early (low penalty for early redemption so ok there, and none are front loaded).
We also have no overdraft now, so start May on an even keel, which hopefully will continue with a bit of careful budgetting and spreadsheet-keeping.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Oh bother!
I really did hope that your amount would be coming down - but if snowballing still gives the same clear date then that is something (and clearing one CC is a bonus and a half!)
I am positive that if you put your mind (and your OHs mind) to it you could clear it even quicker!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup
