Thanks guys - with your support, I am very sure I will get those numbers down sharpish.
Of course, if you all desert me and my diary, I will remain in debt for ever, and die insolvent.............

Hypno there's nothing actually wrong with consolidation if you are doing it for the right reasons (ie making it cheaper), and you know you have the willpower not to run the cards up again (which clearly you do). I know we shy away from consolidation on here, but that's because people who say they are going to consolidate often haven't addressed the issues that got them into debt in the first place.
So stop feeling guilty....that's an order....okay??"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

Well done for getting rid of those credit cards and reducing the other - that must be a big boost even if you had to take a loan to do it - it's something you've thought about properly and with this new job those figures in your sig will be going down in no time
I've just got my payslip - £1.04 down thanks to the change in tax allowances - was expecting worse but still not impressed. :rolleyes:Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Thanks (again) guys. Snaggles, you talk such sense (sometimes), hun x
In my quest to become debt free, and to not use the car unless I need to, and not to buy stuff I don't need in the supermarket, I have just done a tesco shop online for the first time in months!
Ok, so I had to pay £4.25 delivery, but I got a £10 off coupon from the coupons board here, so that means I know what I am spending, can't be tempted with anything else, and didn't even need to get off my bum to do it!!
OH doesn't have a tesco account, so I think next week, he will be going through quidcoI used to do my shopping online all the time, and I don't really know why I stopped, as it was a great way of keeping control of the shopping budget!
YL, how very DARE they take more money from you.....do they not know you are on a mission  :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I know
it's only a tiny amount of money really but when you're trying to stay out of debt and get some savings together little things don't help. Got my P60 last week and I can reclaim back £40 as I started paying student loan contributions as new job is over threshold but job I did before (same employer different department) wasn't. Just waiting for a P60 from TNS MS and then I'll know exactly how things stand for tax last year and will get it sorted. The £40 hasn't made the slightest debt in my student loan so might as well have it back
I tried online shopping a few times before Christmas to do a monthly shop at the start of the month with bulky things and staple stuff then smaller weekly shops of meat and veg sticking as religously as possible to a list and this worked well. Since Christmas have done the monthly shops in store at Tescos and we kept being tempted (OH especially) then got a £10 off code the other day in the post saying they'd missed us so used that and they're coming on Thursday. I like to be able to see meat and veg before I buy it but cans and bottles and stuff I really like having delivered saves all the carrying.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Truth hurts eh Snags ?
Trying to withdraw from gamebookers is a blinking pain. I want to transfer it into my bank account but their computer doesn't have my bank's IBAN listed so I either send them a screen shot of the transaction *and* my bank statemnt <hmmm> so they can update their system OR I deposit on a Visa card and then withdraw the lot on that. Don't really want too many bookies on my cashminder account but I may have to make an exception in this case GRR
On the up side I have a lovely new gas meter-but can't put any money on it til the new payment card arrives so hoping the reserve lasts-and then have to get my electrical company for the money back on the old card.
Why is life never simple ????? Quite a lot of funds coming my way this week but either cheque is in the post, no valid IBAN or idiot exOH paid it into the account that takes 5 days to clear instead of 3.
