    Just spent ages doing a new budget on Martin's :money: budget spreadsheet thingy - saved it to come back to and it hasn't saved!!!! Did it again, saved it again, and it still hasn't saved.......

    But the upshot is:

The grocery (food only) budget is £35 per week - that is £1 per person per day, and if Weezl can do it on 50p a day, I can do it on £1 a day, with a little (ok a lot) of effort and imagination.

Non grocery (cleaning stuff, cat food, cat litter) is £15 a week.....of course because I don't *do* cleaning, this is far too much money, so can be used to top up the food element of the budget if needed.....(or buy the odd latte or two)

The key to it all is going to be sticking with the budgets - this is something that we have always had difficulty with, so it is going to require extra effort all round. Planning shopping lists and meal plans is something I have always done, but now I have to be more strict with sticking to them.

    Deep breath.......and off I go :o

    Hi there

Wow, thats a turnup ..... hope you both feel okay about it.... and congratulations to him it wasn't easy, thats for sure.

Laughing a little bit here about the control thing - yep, control is a good feeling, but it would be nice if everything I wanted to control would *be* controlled. Hi ho.

Being employed helps - I thought I had a nice clear day today after my mystery shop, twas not to be, I only finished inputting at 10pm.... yawn.... not much is simple, hey? Really hope you can manage on a budget of £35 a week, at the right shops buying the right things I'm sure its do-able. I popped into a Waitrose after my mystery shop, for the pesto (of course!) and I was shocked at the prices of things - even porridge oats were half as much again as they currently are at Mr T... v odd.

Anyway, hope you're snoozing away in the land of nod by now. g'night...

Flippin heck....whoever is in charge of banking "up there" has obviously got it in for me!!!!!

OH is due money from his second job on 20th - with the 20th being a Sunday, I expected it to be in the bank today - very necessary because we are already over our o/d limit, and the car insurance needs to be paid by noon

So, logged onto online banking to see what my new improved shortfall would be, and of course there is no "new" money in there

    Oh well......

One item ends on ebay in a couple of hours - only £2 but still better than nowt - one of yesterdays winning bidders has paid, so I can post that parcel, but two others (including the biggest!) are still outstanding! I have one last item ending this evening, but only one watcher on it and no bids, so not hopeful really on that one.

Have a good day everyone x

    Morning Hypno.

Not good news with hubbies wages, do you think they will go in tomorrow then? Unusual though for wages to go in on a saturday.

Whats the plan with your car insurance now then?

Good news with the ebay bits have you got lots more to list?

I'm not your twin, I have no desire to control anything ;)
Would rather have nuts & crisps than chocolate (still not good for the budget or the waistline :D ) though I will eat a KitKat occasionally. (Occasionally Huh:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: )
OH likes to do what I ask/suggest and that makes me give him SO much leeway, that he's gone to another continent :rotfl:
I like pottering around the house and having it tidy. :o

can I be in your gang though?

HYno - you are more up on baking than I am but I thought wages were usually paid by BACS and were in by 10 am? (Thats what mortgage lenders tell me about BACS when I order advance monies)

    Fingers crossed.

I think the problems over the last few weeks are because I am a bit of a control freak.....just a bit.....and this situation was out of my control. Normally when something goes wrong, or not according to plan, I can work through it on a practical level.....but of course only HE could sort himself out a job, and an income, and I just had to wait.....and nag.....and wait a bit more......and try the silent treatment......and blah blah blah!!!!

are you sure we are not just all clones of you Hypno? and our OH's clones of Mr. Hypno?

read this and thought -- did i write that in my sleep? -- have been having exactly this battle with OH, except that after the blah, blah, blah, it came to an end in an exhausting shouting match yesterday!!! Hopefully OH will follow Mr. Hypno's lead and have sorted himself out a new job by the time his 'Garden Leave' ends today!!!!

glad to hear you a bit more upbeat this morning, despite all the nonsense happening!

and a huge BAH to the stupid banks for not getting the wages in on time, don't they realize who they are messing with?

Wages still not in - just checked.....bah.....but the kind bank did allow me to go even further over my overdraft limit to do the car insurance, so at least I don't need to worry about having a prang today.......

Missed the bus on my way to work, so that didn't help the general "mood" of the morning, but I wasn't late, so no real harm done.

OO, yes, please be in my gang - I have kitkats :D (make the most of them though, the new shopping budget doesn't allow for them!).

rtandon - fingers crossed for your OH! Doncha just lurrrve them at times!!! I too had the massive shouting episode but blah blah blah is all I think he heard!
