Well, DD is not the sort who would take money out of the bank without it being necessary - so it will just go down as one of those "lessons learned" - no such thing as a free lunch type thing!!
Friend HAS, however, paid for DS to have his haircut - £20  We normally use the clippers that we bought from argos for £19.99 fifteen years ago.......average cost over time of haircuts for OH (no hair left) and DS over the last few years = 2.5p or thereabouts!!! I don't spend £20 on my own haircut, yet alone one for a 12 year old.

You're living in the universe where two children near the top of their chosen sport feel that haircuts aren't a huge priority.
If they lived for haircuts - then you have a problem..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Awww hun
Just dropping by before logging into work-big big hugs and loads of positive thoughts for you.
Take a break today-even if it's just an hour-you sound in dire need.
Working til 11 and it's going to be manic thanks to Mr gates and Zonealarm managing to upset a load of PCs this week -still not blitzed the house, still not packed or cleared the admin mountain -I'll certainly sleep well on the plane.
Tax credits were interesting this week-I renewed and changed the bank details and 2 days later an extra payment arrived equalling a week's creditsd-Have checked and they haven't changed the date it's a genuine extra payment-so if you haven't renewed yet Hypno-do so-you never know.
Hang on in there-things WILL improveI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
That's true, Z.....thankfully they are not the "spoilt brat" types, but instead are able to (generally) make some fairly good decisions about what is important to them......of course the time may well come when haircuts, gadgetry and "labels" become more important to them.....but not just at the moment.
Duchy, have a good trip.......I never have seemed to benefit from tax credits - whatever we earn, we end up with about £11 a month at best, so even if they popped an extra payment in, it wouldn't be a lot!!
I get quite jealous of people on here with tax credits that are enough to do a weekly shop with.......even though they seem to create hassles along the way! (Sad, I know, and not meant to be taken as any offence to anyone receiving tax credits.......but you know what I mean - chance would be a fine thing!!!)Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hypno I rely on your upbeat diary to cheer me on my way.
I feel so ineffectual, flapping around when you're in need of positive words
(thank goodness for Duchys eloquenceI second what she said) A bit like once when I was a single mum and cried over something and the children were completely confused and just patted me :rotfl:

Thanks OO - I will be ok.....once I give myself a kick up the backside and stop wallowing - what was it that Pania used to say - "I am not a hippo".....:p
Perhaps I need to get back to work - come Monday I won't have a spare minute to wallow.....one of the advantages of my job, however tiring - the days just fly by and you don't get chance to "think" of anything other than what you are doing!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hi Hypno and all ..so sorry that you are having a few crappy days and I know you'll get through them but sending some hugs anyway .It's so hard when things go wrong when we are on such a tight budget and really feel for you.It feels like 1 step forwards and two steps back somedays.Take care xx0
