We are loading things on ebay as I type, and we will get there, somehow.......I am just fed up of it being like this.
One day, I will have no debt, and I will have savings............but by that time I will be going to "free b!ngo addicts anonymous" :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hi Hypno, just want to send you a hug as I so sympathise with the situation. Encourage OH NOT to take the job with the charity but to hold out for something better paid.
My OH is doing 1.5 hours a day driving for a charity he is very attached to too, and it is driving me nuts!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Hugs for hypno - have a laugh at my expense - have just spend **** time getting a baby deer out of the shed - 3 grown ups and one tiny bambi which was shrieking its head off - goodness knows where the mother was. It got stuck in a bucket then hid in the go-kart. we had to empty everything out in the end.
Hope tomorrow is better for you Hypno - sending hugs your way0 -
Ooh, Surfbabe, bambi in the shed :rotfl:
Gemmz, no OH doesn't have a credit card - the only ones he has are "closed" with just the balances being paid off. He was one of the "victims" of Egg deciding to close down peoples' accounts.
Seaxwyn, helloo!!!! I too am inclined for OH not to take the charity job - he is very attached to that particular charity and although he will put his heart and soul into it, I think THAT is the problem - he will do so many additional hours that the "real" hourly rate will be far less than the minimum wage. I am all for enjoying job and having a real "passion" for the job, but that needs to be balanced out with the ability to pay the bills.......aaarrrggghhh!!!!!!
MiT :rotfl: long time no see, hope you are well x
Just got back from skiing - we had a bit of a pre race weekend "bring some food" evening - everyone brought far more yummy and sophisticated food than I did, so we all (including the student) filled our tummies with yummy food and were very grateful.
One other family there are with CCCS following a nasty accident which resulted in the Dad breaking his back and being off work for a while......they too were noshing away, so we formed the "poor and hungry" clubWe would have brought home a doggy bag each, but we ate it there and then instead
I certainly got a good deal - took some cheap cookies on offer, and noshed on smoked salmon and stuffed vine leaves.....with loooooads of cake and wonderful fresh fruits

Hmm, what about getting 3rd party quotes for now? Should be less.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Thanks Gemmz - I am still "claiming" for my accident last year - even though it was admitted by the third party, I have a personal injury claim in through my insurance, so the quotes for new insurance have been sky high compared with sticking to my existing policy providers who "know" the ins and outs of my claim. Once that is out of the way, I will have a bit more choice, but it seems the only way to keep it low is to stay where I am. Our premium is actually quite low, considering, as we have so many years protected no claims (as if that is worth anything!) so only about £250 to find - 3rd party is not much cheaper, and knowing my luck, I will bump my car the week after taking myself off fully comp!!!
It'll be ok!
Oh, and a friend gave me a carrier bag with 2 aubergines, some peppers and onions........ratatouille for dinner tomorrow thenSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Today's list reads something like this:
- [strike]check online banking and tally up against "bills still to pay list"[/strike] Still short by £261.78 - bah. And head taken out of the sand re car insurance.
- [strike]3 mystery shops to do this afternoon[/strike] DONE - one has been input, 2 need follow up phone calls.
- [strike]finish inputting one mystery shop I did earlier in the week[/strike] DONE
- [strike]get food for pre-race "party" at ski training[/strike] DONE (two packs of cookies on offer - yum)
- [STRIKE]take kids to karate & skiing[/STRIKE] DONE
- [strike]sort floor of wardrobe out[/strike] DONE but now bedroom is even more of a mess, so some more work to do yet!
- 4 more things listed on ebay 2 listed so far.....plenty more ready to list over the weekend.
Well, not quite as much listed on ebay - we have lots to put on but spent too much time "researching" what we have to find the best way of listing them! We will be able to put them on over the weekend hopefully, although some have been relegated to the car boot box instead, and one 1920's "cylinder record" fell to pieces as OH gave it a quick cleanso ended up in the bin as it is of no value as it is!!
So 6 items listed - one has 11 watchers, so hopeful for a few ££££ on that one, and two bids so far totalling the grand sum of £1.98.....getting there :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
