And you did *that* one! You can do this one too - any more civilised dining in the offing, btw?

Well, the idea really is to sit down for a meal more often - when we used to do this it was a really good way for us to talk with our students, and also, for some reason the presentation of my "cheap and cheerful" meals looks better in nice serving bowls on the table rather than just served up straight from the pan!! Eg sliced pizza and salad, or pasta and roasted veggies - all looks much nicer (and therefore much more expensive!) when put on the table for serving rather than on the kitchen workshop.

    food psychology anyone

I take it you wrote 'kitchen workshop' in error, freudian slip? Made me laugh that. Makes sense to me about the presentation thing I mean even Jamie Olivers food would look naff if not presented well surely. I'm glad your getting back to the table thing it sounds like it will make you feel better and you will get alot from it.

LOL KM......indeed it does feel more like a workshop than a worktop at times!!

One thing listed on ebay.....3 more to go before I can cross that one off my list!

Fingers crossed for OH today. trouble with nice serving dishes is that they, as well as the saucepans, need washing afterwards!

Well, the first "possible" job is still at the "planning" stages......so not much point in having had a chat about it today as there is no job description available, no salary details (not even a ball park figure) and no planned starting date.......so, nothing to report there, and I have to admit to being a little disappointed that he came out knowing nothing more about it than he did last week.....

2nd "possible" job I am sure won't pay as much, but he is with them now, so we shall wait and see.

I have been sorting out the bottom of my wardrobe - amazing how many coathangers I really own...and sorted and stacked the "present pile" at the same time.....found three collectable items for ebay plus an ideal "mother of the bride" outfit that someone gave me which can also go on ebay (not sure why I have a "mother of the bride" outfit - I am not planning on DD getting wed just yet  The collectables are OH's so I have to work on persuading him to list them....:D

The downsides (yes there are many) of clearing out my wardrobe floor include.......
    • The boxes of "stuff" mainly paperwork that I shoved out of the way over the years, are now in need of sorting/chucking/shredding - I WILL NOT put them back in the wardrobe.
    • I can't actually get into bed now.......:o
    • Tesco carrier bags are biodegradable........and make very MSE confetti over time.............:rotfl:

    Am fed up.....

2nd job "interview" is OH's if he wants it, but the salary doesn't come anywhere near what we need. It is not even a case of not being near what we WANT, but it simply is not enough to cover the bills, and we are then back to not having the money for petrol and food (again).....so all in all very disappointing.

And so then he rang up about some temp work that he had been told would be available when he wanted it (old employer he spoke to a few weeks ago) and it seems as though that has disappeared too.

And to cap it all, my car insurance is due next week - I am facing a shortfall this month already and had "conveniently forgotten" the car insurance, (hoping for a minor miracle, moneywise, I guess) but can't avoid the fact any longer - I haven't got the money to pay for it. The student's money won't be in by then, and even if it is, it doesn't cover the shortfall AND the insurance.

On a plus side, I did three mystery shops this afternoon.....the money won't come through for several weeks......but at least it is something.

I hate this situation sometimes.....and today is one of those days.

Oh hell Hypno. What a vile situation. Thank goodness that you have a good job now. At least that's one regular salary coming in.

How short will you be? Will ebay fill the gap or are you into overdraft territory? Isn't your OH still being paid /on notice period?
