Text books on Amazon are the ones that really sell. Especially if they are in subjects that don't go out of date.
One thing I read on one of the forums here (possibly the selling on Amazon forum....) was that one poster trawled the charity shops for such text books. They don't sell well in charity shops, because people aren't looking for them there, but they do look on Amazon.

This is quite true, running a charity shop, we seem to shift novels more than anything else. We have thousands of books through our doors, and we cant sell them for more than a few pennies. Unfortunately I cant sell things of my own on these things really either, as it could compromise my position at work, (Dont know how, but thats the general consensous from the powers that be?). Oh I suppose if I was buying them cheap at work then selling them somebody would say I was fiddling? I dont know. Would have to learn to be dishonest before I understand all that. Same as Car boots, its a no no. :o

If everyone at your work keeps popping out for lattes - do you reckon the bosses would get a coffee machine for you? The research group OH's in has a 'proper' coffee machine - grinds beans, froths milk etc as quite a few of them like coffee like that and it means they don't keep wandering off!

Mind you OH is a complete coffee freak - even roasts beans at home  but buys all his coffee stuff out of the extra money he gets for doing extra work so I can't complain too much - but a bit wasted on me as I can't stand coffee at all - tea all the way here - much cheaper and easier to make too ;)

We're wondering about trying the L&G ISA via Quidco. Have you done it yet? Did it track/pay OK?

A quiet day here, other than the Nationwide news on house prices, it seemed such a risk to commit to rent until after Christmas, but we're definitely happier about the decision now. Presumably it's good news for you too Hypno as you're planning to move up the market with your house move.

Have you started action lists for your house move, I know it seems early, but things like gardens etc it works out cheaper to buy little plants now that with 2 years growth will look super when you need them.

YL - a coffee machine is unlikely. It is, how can I say, quite "old fashioned" in a really lovely quaint way, so anything approaching the 20th century, yet alone the 21st century is "new-fangled" :o I am thinking of setting myself a challenge for June that is latte related...........

se....we have loads to do to the house before we can move - new windows, a good clean up......perhaps a cheap replacement en-suite set and it will take me 2 years just to tidy!!!!

Taxi - yes, a loan payment came out today, so I amended the total - more comes out on Monday so another signature change again then :D

I have had another bid on ebay - this one for £4.99 so it is getting there, and have just won a whole £2.50 on free b!ngo :D All adds up!!

Hi Hypno, I think the fact that you keep going on about how long it will take for you to tidy up is about the only thing I can relate too!. The mess builds up quicker than I can blink!! Ive stressed at it all today. Had a major rant, but its not looking any the better!.

It makes no difference how much I rant, my housework doesn't seem to get the hint :o

Forgot to mention earlier that we get an extra £8 a week when the new student comes in September!! Every little helps!!

Got another thing listed on ebay - that is over 30 items listed between ebay and Amazon this week, so not bad (for me!).
